Just curious how many Priest owners were able to handcuff him with Larry Johnson?
In the main Vegas leagues, only one Priest owner (Gekko) picked Johnson. How about NY and Chicago?
I picked Priest at 1.07. At 4.08, I had a choice between Johnson and Fred Taylor and decided to take a chance that Taylor would stay health and be my #3 RB.
Johnson went 5.05, but even if he was available at 5.07 I probably would of taken the player I did take at 5.07 - Witten.

i really like priest this year...i took him with #2 .......i took your strategy and pick some other rb instead of picking johnson .....i really figure on him scoring alot and we will be happy .,.,.,.,.and not upset ....

You wouldnt take johnson at round 5 pick 7, and you have priest . I DONT BELIEVE THAT. You will also regret taking fragile fred too over LJ.
In the ULTIMATE LJ was gone in the mid 3rd round.
My 4th pick in the the ULTIMATE WAS TATUM BELL, HAD PICK 2 , SO THATS PICK 55. LJ was way gone at this point.

i have an opinion and want to see others respond to it....
the problem with holmes to me is that he has so many things working against him...
age...
injury history...
a young, talented, highly drafted/paid RB waiting in wings...
an offensive line that finally has changed some from the stable unit it has been...
a QB and TE who spread the field, (and help the running game) who are both hurting some...
if the chiefs are winning 31-10 in the late 3rd quarter, wont the chiefs take out a healthy holmes and let johnson get the 85 yards and extra TD that used to go to holmes?
i know holmes can be great... i know he scores tons of TD's. but TD's are hard to predict.. many of them are dependant on a receiver getting tackled inside the ten yard line which lets holmes ultimately punch it in... how often this happens can easily fluctuate.
i can see games where owners start holmes and he rushes for 75 yards and a TD, and then larry johnson rushes for 111 yars and 2 TD sitting on someones bench... it might be a hard backfield to predict...
i just see so many questions marks connected to holmes this year that would makes me fear spending such an important first round pick on him... i felt the exact same way last year in the NFFC when i had the first pick and took tomlinson over holmes and ultimately won my league...
he could also prove me wrong lead many teams to titles this year... just putting in my two cents and wonder if i am in the minority in viewing that backfield this way....

Ren , I think a lot of teams may agree with you. He fell to #8 in NY#2. I haven't seen all the drafts but that may be the latest he was taken. My biggest problem is that you almost have to take LJ in the 4th/5th rounds
Did anyone select him at the #2 spot in any draft?

REN i totally agree with you on everything you said.HOLMES WILL BE 32 AT The start of the season , and with the major surgery last year theirs no reason to give him all those goal plays , wheres teirs major contact. LJ WILL GET SOME OF THEM TO TAKE SOME OF THE INJURY RISK AWAY.The NFL is a young man's game , especially at running back. I TOO passed at priest with the 5 pick and took j jones , a young stud with young knees and hips.Could priest do it again , it's possible but theirs a better chance of a injury , or stats that dont live up to the old priest. PRIEST WENT 5 IN THE ULTIMATE.

I passed on Holmes with pick 4 in the Ultimate. I may live to regret that, especially since the other big 3 RB's (LT, Shaun and Edge) were gone when it was my turn. Ultimately, team 5 took Priest right after I took McGahee. Team 5 immediately took LJ with his 3rd pick.
Priest may prove to be the best RB in the leagues again this year. But, having to use 2 picks to secure him is the big downside. Or, worse yet, losing him to injury and not having LJ. That was my mistake last year when I took Priest with pick 1. I Ultimately (pun intended) refuesd to make that mistake again; especially after paying in $5000 for the draft. I wish Priest the best, but could not chance it here.

I got Priest at 1.8
My next two picks were
Torry Holt
Javon Walker
Had I had to take a player in those two rounds I liked less I would have passed on LJ in rd 4.
I took him and feel very good about the team.
I HOPE they split and get me 15-18 points each per week.
Because w/ Holt Walker Lelie and Chambers @ WR in a 14 team league. I could score a good amount.

i took him at 1.2 and just hope he stays healthy...vermeil will give him the ball and keep giving him the ball....vermeil has never really liked johnson and i know that does not go a long way but it helps.....i could have took edge with the #2 but being from colts country rhodes will steal more carries from edge than johnson from holmes edge has said that he will take him self out as many times as he needs because he wants to stay fresh and healthy becasue he wants the free agent money at the end of the year ......good luck to all ..and here is to hoping the pats will not win this year .....
