I'm here all afternoon so let's talk fantasy football, the NFL, the NFFC or anything else that's on your mind. The door is open.

Young QB questions:
GROSSMAN
Did you get a chance to watch Grossman at all last year before the injury? Did he make an impression? Did his play adhere to your expectations based on his college career (if you followed him)?
BOLLER
How does he do in '05? Will Mason's addition boost his numbers? Did you see anyting last year that led you to believe he could be a solid fantasy player (good backup/occasional starter)?
ELI MANNING
Will Coughlin turn him loose at all? And do the Giants have the ofensive line to protect him?
thanks

I did watch Grossman and wasn't very impressed. The Bears beat Green Bay at Lambeau, for example, in spite of Grossman. He was brutal. I don't expect much from him this season.
I'm not a Boller fan at all and if he can't get it done this season there will be no hope for him.
Manning will be a good QB in time but the time isn't here yet. Burress isn't a legit go-to WR in my opinion and Toomer is on the decline. I think we'll see flashes from Manning but I expect more struggles than success this season.

Staying with the QBS...
BREES
How about Brees in San Diego? Guy looked great last year, but many seem attribute his success entirely to Gates' emergence? Can he have another 20+ TD year in Marty's offense?
HASSLEBECK
Matt had a bad year in '05... do you think it was mostly the dropsies from his receivers? Or is he just not the guy to command Holmgren's offense? And speaking of that offense (if you had to bet right now) who emerges as the starting WRs for the hawks?
thanks

Brees should deliver 20+ again. I think he's a solid QB; he obviously has the running game and I think the Chargers' receivers are solid (Gates is obviously terrific).
Hasselbeck will bounce back, but he needs help from his WRs who need to stop dropping so many passes. One nice thing about Hasselbeck is if you have him he's been money in December which is a key time of the fantasy season. Right now, it could be Engram who emerges as the starter but if Jurevicius stays healthy I'd look for him to be productive -- especially as a Red Zone target.

More QB stuff... what do you think of Patrick Ramsey and the Redskins? Seems like he's got a bunch of no-name WRS and he plays in a pretty conservative offense. Anything fantasy worth here?
And staying the division, I've heard Bledsoe mentioned as a sleeper (!) in '05... any thouhts on whether Big D can produce viable fantasy #s from the passing game?

I'm not optimistic Ramsey will do very well. I don't like his WRs (though I do like Cooley at TE) and we have to see if Gibbs has figured out how to use Portis properly. The good news for Portis is the Skins have a good defense so their games should be close which will give him his carries. I'd like Ramsey a lot more with Coles than with Santana Moss.
I think Bledsoe's a dog. I think he's a mild upgrade over Vinny but that's it. So look back at what Vinny did and expect slightly better results from Bledose. That offense is going to be all about Julius Jones.

Afternoon Dr.K
Rumor has it that neither of us has a job.
At least you get paid for talking to me!
So what were your impressions of the draft last night? Whether or not guys were holding back I still see the top 4 slots as premium.
I know you have to be a company man on this one but you can't tell me your enthusiasm doesn't drop a little with each spot you get further away from #1. Right?

I like both of the Jones' this year but I like Kevin more. His receiving skills could end up being the difference.
As far as the teams go, they look pretty close in a lot of ways, but I'd probably go with the second team. I think Williams will prove to be a solid RB2 but Moss' difference at WR is what sets that team apart in my opinion.
