Looks like he is making it interesting JUST IN TIME for draft weekend......time to change your draft boards!

Chris Johnson - RB - Titans
Appearing on NFL Network's Total Access, Michael Lombardi said Tuesday that the Titans are "ready to make the offer" that will get Chris Johnson to report for practice.
Lombardi characterized the Titans' approach as "very aggressive" because they want to get a deal done this week. After finalizing Michael Vick's contract, agent Joel Segal has his full attention on a new contract for Johnson. According to Lombardi, there hasn't been any hostility, "they've opened up the bank vault," and "it looks like they're going to pay him." Lombardi believes it's "not too optimistic" to expect a new deal this weekend.

There's certainly risk here because, as we've seen numerous times in the past, players who hold out often get hurt early in the season. Larry Johnson comes to mind a few years ago. Revis last season. Way back during my Packer beat days, Dorsey Levens held out and promptly got hurt at the start of the season.

But Johnson is a superlative talent. If you're going to gamble on someone I say gamble on a guy with massive upside. Those who got Johnson late in the first or early in the second may have gotten themselves the steal of the draft.

I think Emmitt Smith had a pretty good year when he held out. :D

Like Tom said...."superlative talent".

Never heard that term....but I am guessing it is good! :D

It is. :D

I'm kicking myself for not taking him in the FBG draft the other night. He went one pick after me (sixth). Should've rolled the dice. That kind of talent is worth it.

[/QUOTE]I'd take Foster, Peterson and Rice ahead of him for sure. If I was picking fourth and he signed tomorrow I'd have to come up with a compelling reason to take someone else.
