It's hard to believe, but seven weeks from today many of you will be live in New York, Las Vegas, Chicago and Online drafting your Classic and Primetime Main Event teams. SEVEN WEEKS AWAY!! 49 DAYS AWAY!!! WOW!!

Yes, this NFL lockout has shortened our off-season of preparation to seven short weeks. It's also shortened our signup period to 40+ days and our satellite season to just 7+ weeks. It's a shame that this off-season has been condensed, but such is life. At least we know an NFL season is ahead of us and we can prepare for the future knowing an NFFC season lies ahead.

Tom and I are ready to get things announced and rolling RIGHT NOW!! We obviously need signed contracts with the hotels to officially get people locked in at each location, but right now it's safe to say that the Bellagio in Las Vegas is our home for sure, Chicago Hyatt O'Hare will be our home in the Windy City and a familiar Manhattan location is most likely going to be our home in New York. Plan accordingly.

I think it's safe to say that we'll extend our Special Packages offering through Aug. 1st now that it looks like the lockout will officially end on July 22nd. That gives everyone time to prepare their budget and their schedules for September. If you want to take multiple entries and take advantage of the Early-Bird special of no Events Fees and no co-manager fees, we'll make that available through Aug. 1st. After that, the added fees apply.

We'll update our satellite league schedule with 12-team formats and even add auction satellite leagues. We are bullish on 2011 and we believe the NFFC will have a record season even with the shorter off-season. Fantasy players haven't abandoned this space, they are just upset over some of the past dealings and frustrated by the NFL lockout. Hopefully we can be your home of guaranteed prizes, quick payouts and unique, competitive contests. Come and join us in 2011.

Someone asked me yesterday if we were disappointed with the early signup numbers. The answer: ABSOLUTELY NOT!! I don't blame ANYONE for not committing to the NFFC or any other live event contest before this labor war is over. There's no doubt in my mind that once free agency gets going and football is back in full swing that the NFFC will prosper and even top last year's numbers. Everything is in place for a great, great season under STATS and now that we have football back you'll see our die-hards return soon. All of our plans remain in place as the lockout ended soon enough -- even though we wish it had ended weeks ago -- and we have enough time to reach our stated goals. Now let's do it.

Again, we've already started our NFFC season with NFFC '60s and Slow Drafts. The satellite league season isn't far behind, nor is the Online Championships. Let's get everyone locked and loaded for 2011 and get the talk of football going again. Tom and I will host more Live Chats this year on the NFFC boards since we didn't have a magazine this year, so be ready for those coming soon. We're going to be more active on these boards than ever before. If you want to talk about the upcoming fantasy season, this is going to be the place to be.

GREAT NEWS THIS WEEK!! A deal is almost done. Now let's get ready for Draft Day because it will be here in SEVEN SHORT WEEKS!!

After the stress and disappointment us fantasy football fans have endured with the lockout, it appears we are about to be rewarded with an abbreviated offseason that is going to be more exciting than any we've ever endured. It's going to be a wild ride!
