Post by Tom Kessenich » Fri Oct 27, 2006 2:06 am

Hey folks, we had a great time with the chat last week so I thought I'd rev one up this week as well. We're heading into Week 8 of the season and this weekend should be a lot of fun. So bring your questions, comments and all that good stuff and I'll be here this afternoon.

See you then.

Tom,

I really enjoy the chats you to. You just made my friday less miserable.

-Do you think it is confirmed that Maurice Jones-drew is the getting the carries on the goaline?

-Do you think Joe Addai is looking significantly better then Rhodes and soon to overtake the job or a bigger role for the second half of the season?

-I think there is a good chance the NFFC can be hugely impacted or even won by a team that gets fortunate in hitting on a RB who is currently in a RBBC that through injury becomes the main guy... Addai, maroney, marion barber etc Guess that was not a question.

-Do you think the Bears offense was in any way exposed 2 weeks ago or will grossman get right back on track?

-which fantasy position do you think traditionally is hardest to predict? QB, RB, WR?

BTW- if you like to wait in line and camp out, Toys R Us will be doing the Playstation 3 Pre-sale on Sunday. Store opens up @ 10am...you will need to get there about 5am for a shot.

Now to fantasy land -

MJD looks like the guy to get the ball in Jax by the goal line. Fred Taylor is disgruntled with his role and paycheck recently...Interesting to not that Fraud Taylor coughed up a big fumble last week with the score 10-7. That was the turning point of the game because JAX was driving and looking to atleast tie the game.

Addai was drafted to be the man in Indy. Rhodes was kept there as a band-aid after Edge left town. Addai will continue to get better as the year goes on and we look for him to have decent #'s going forward.

NFFC winner this year may be impacted with good fortune of having a RB step in for an injured starter. Ultimately this will not be the deciding factor. It will enable someone in this position to have more depth and the advantage of making key decisions on matchups. Most important ingredient to a NFFC champ would be that there core starters either continue or go on a crazy rampage of points during the time it counts the most - Weeks 14-15-16

In regard to the Bears offense. You asked a good question..."Are these fuggers for real?" Well, lets put it this way...they have played over there heads immensely....But I gotta give a great deal of credit to Bears D for this. In team sports, wouldnt it be great to know that your Defense is sick and you can count on them to stop almost everything? I think the Bears D breathed alot of confidence into the Offense thus far and they have picked up their game in return. Make note that if the Bears Defense doesnt show up for a game, the Offense will sputter big time....this will be the key to them having success in the NFL playoffs this year...All in all, I think the Bears can be beat on any given Sunday :D

The fantasy football position hardest to predict is probably WR. I am referring to 2006. I despise seeing guys like Mike Furrey, Bernard Berrian, Greg Jennings, Marcus Colston, and others outperforming a freakin phenom like Braylon Edwards (who is on my team  )

Good luck Renman :D

fisher,

witty guy...lol I actually just threw this out there for Tom to review later when he started the chat...As I was not sure I would be able to be in front of a computer then. I am not much the video game guy as I prefer play real sports and real activities and leave my fantasy stuff at football and porn... Though I did read an interesting thing by Bill Simmons from ESPN.com where he said that new video game system should come with information to find a good divorce attorney.

-I agree with you about jones-drew and hope you are right given I drafted him in all of my fantasy football events.

-I agree with you about Addai, though I hope we are wrong given that I have Rhodes in the NFFC.

-I agree about WR being hardest to predict though I went into this years NFFC with the idea of working harder to get top tier WRs as compared to my first two years where I went RB heavy. My old logic was that getting good RB's is a must given you can predict them better, and WR's are harder to predict and good ones can be found in rounds 4 and later.

All right, I'm here and ready to chat. To kick things off, here are my answers to renman's questions:

1. I think Jones-Drew will start seeing the majority of carries at the goal line until he gives the Jags a good reason to make a change.

2. I think Addai is looking better than Rhodes but overall I think the Colts are happy with the arrangement and will probably keep the RBBC situation in place for the next few games at least.

3. No it wasn't a question but that's definitely very possible.

4. I think Grossman is going to be fine. He was way overdue for a bad game and he just happened to have a real stinker his last time out. He'll get well this week against the Niners.

Tom with FF a week to week and essentialy a race to week 13,then the playoffs, vs. FB a day to day grind and a ton of # crunches. In your opinion is there a GREATER sastisfaction in being the champ in baseball vs. football.

I don't see him taking the starting job unless Jones gets hurt or collapses. The former is a possibility; I don't think the latter is.

I would view the satisfaction equally since both are impressive accomplishments in my opinion - especially on the level of the NFFC and NFBC. If you've won a title in one of our events I think you've definitely accomplished something special. These are tough crowds.
