The Brady Plan

OK, we all know what he did last year and we all have differing opinions of how we think he will perform over the next 17 weeks.

If you got Brady feel free to post your teams for comparison.

If you did not plan on going that way and "had" to take him based on the perceived value, how did that turn out for you?

Would you do it again if the drafts were tomorrow?

Just curious.

Here is what I did from the 10th slot. I think this core can compete in a 12 teamer even if Brady only thorws for 35 tds let alone the 42 I have projected.

Brady / Bush - FWP / Wayne - Bowe - Burleson / Shockey

Flex Options: Zach Miller (70+, 840yds+, 7+ tds), Mark Clayton, Hagan (have a good felling about him) and Mo Morris plus a few others.

I think Brady is a bad investment in the 1st round, everything went right last year and i know preseason is just practice but NE has looked awful.I THINK bRADY OWNERS WILL BE LUCKY IF HE THROWS 35.I would rather take Brees or Romo in the 3rd round he could be even better than Brady this year or it least pretty close to him.I just cant pass up one of the top 14 players for any qb. just my opinion but did i love hearing Brady in the 1st round.

How about

Brady / Barber - T Jones / S Smith - Cotchery - Chambers / O Danials

We also got Cutler (+3 backups)/ Slaton Green Taylor (all of Hou) McAllister Hightower Washington / LJ Smith King/ Hagen Hardy Morgan Bryant

Brady was Scarry ... but we are OK ... 12 team NBC $650 DC.

Agreed. Unfrotunately Brees or Romo never lasted that long in the leagues I was in. Brees and Romo were both gone by mid second round before my turn in the second round in both the NBC and NFFC main event leagues.

We got Brady in the second ... Romo and Brees never fell to the third in any leagues I'm aware of

Took Brady at 10 in the 12 teamer. Didn't expect him to be there and thus it completely changed our strategy. Here's how we ended up:

QB: Brady, Campbell
RB: MJD, Jacobs (Bradshaw), Forte, Betts
WR: A. Johnson, Bowe, Berrian, Mason, Curtis, Royal
TE: Dallas Clark

The thing I remember from last year is that the team in our league that owned Brady was competitive in EVERY game. If we get 90% of the 2007-08 Brady, the same should hold true. At least that's the plan . . .

Funny thing is, in the 14-teamer, Manning unexpectedly fell to us at 2.13 and we took him as well, altering our strategy in that league too . . .

I was drafting from the 11 hole in the NBC primetime event and let Brady go (though I did think about it) in the SECOND round. He was ultimately taken at 2 picks after me. My logic is I am high on Peyton Manning to have a huge bounce back season and figured if the league let Brady go that far Manning could get back to me in the 3rd round and he did (allowing me to snag WR talent with my second pick rather than taking Brady).

I still believe Brady will have a big season and 35 TD's is very realistic. They key will be the Pats defense being vulnerable and giving Brady a reason to continue to attack.

Drafting out of the 8th spot with all the RBs gone (except for Portis who I already had in the Draft Champions, Auction, and Main Event) and the following All-Stars drafting to my right:

9th - Paul Clein
10th - Lumpy Anderson
11th - Perry Van Hook
12th - Billy Wasosky

I had to try something different. I started:

1.8 - Brady
2.5 - AJ
3.5 - Boldin
4.8 - Parker
5.5 - Edge
6.8 - Chambers
7.5 - Daniels
8.8 - F. Taylor

QB - Brady
RB - Parker, James (Mendenhall, Hightower)
WR - AJ, Boldin, Chambers
TE - Daniels
Flex - F. Taylor (Branch, Curtis)
K - Scobee
DEF - IND

Bench - Randle-El, Brandon Jackson, M. Bush, A. Peterson, King, Garcia

Not real happy about it, but it could have been much worse.

Romo went at 2.12
Manning went at 2.13
Brees went at 3.2

Anyone care to wager Brady (you) vs, Romo (me) in NFFC points for this season (first 16 weeks) for $500.00?

Bet not voided due to injury.
