Week 5 brings the Fantasy World a special matchup amongst active NFFC message forum rivals. On the New York side of the ball we have Kate & Halle (3-1) owned and operated by Liquid Empire and Ico Jones. Across the Hudson River in New Jersey, is the retired Jersey Paul (2-2). Both squads employed a similar draft strategy by taking Wide Receivers as their primary weapons of mass destruction.

On the Kate & Halle news front, the team will be without 1st round pick, Deuce McCallister, who is still nursing a high ankle sprain. Also, 2nd round draft choice, Chad Johnson is on his bye week.

Jersey Paul has a few injuries to his starting team with Ty Wheatley and Deion Branch both expected to not see any action this week.

Matchups -

QB
---
K & H - Tom Brady vs JP Jake Plummer - We see Tom Brady continue his excellence against a stingy Miami Defense. With Givens, Patten, Graham in the mix, we expect atleast 2 TD's from T. Brady this weekend. Jake Plummer will have similar success in Denver versus Carolina, but will come up a little short with only 1 TD pass.

Advantage - Kate & Halle

Running Back

Both teams will probably use a 2 RB set due to the fact that they have scrubs occupying the 2 spots as it is....no need to dig up a 3rd scrub to plug in for these two teams.

K & H Aaron Stecker and Richie Anderson vs. JP Leonard Henry and Moe Williams or Justin Fargas. Does it get any worse than this? Possibly, but we have 4 RB's that are far from the elite status in fantasy sports. Stecker and Anderson are probably worth about 20-25 pts combined and Leonard Henry and whomever JP plays as RB#2 will be worth about 8-14 pts total.

Advantage - Kate & Halle (Barely)

Wide Receivers

K & H - Hines Ward, Andre Johnson, Jerry Porter, Keary Colbert versus JP's Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, Eric Moulds, and Terry Glenn. This game features some of the best WR's in Fantasy football today. After reviewing matchups, etc. I think that JP's Stud4 WR's will give him approx. 85 points this week to K & H's 65 points for WR's. The key to this being closer for K & H is for Jerry Porter to finally step it up and showcase the skillz we have heard about for the past few years. At any rate, it will be exciting !

Advantage - Jersey Paul

Tight End

K & H - Daniel Graham versus. JP Jason Whitten - I feel this is an even matchup this week. Even though D. Graham has scored in three straight games, this week he will be covered by the speedy Miami LB's. Whitten has looked decent thus far, nothing ground breaking...and will have his share of looks playing against the NY Giants.

Advantage - Break Even

Kickers

K & H Jeff Wilkins versus JP Jay Feely - Trying to guesstimate which Kicker will do better each week is extremely difficult. We all know both of these guys will get chances since they are on offenses that can move the ball. With the Rams playing the tough Seattle Defense, I forsee that Wilkins may be getting a little more action this week than normal.

Advantage - Kate & Halle

Defense - K & H New Orleans Saints Defense versus JP NY Giants Defense. Both teams will get chances for turnovers. NO Saints are facing TB's new QB, Chris Simms which will provide an opportunity to frazzle the youngster. Thus far this squad has been marginal. On the other side of the river, JP's NY Giants will be facing the Cowboys who are a passing team which always raises the chance of INT's.

Advantage- Jersey Paul

After everything is said and done, I predict that Jersey Paul will extend his winning streak to 3 games in a row in NY League 6 with his fearsome foursome of WR's leading the charge.

Final Score Prediction - Jersey Paul 123.6 - Kate & Halle - 116.2

I can only hope your analysis is accurate.

I think the QB scores will be key. Plummer could get 2, although unlikely and Brady could be held to 1, or get 3.

Just think how nice my team would look if Moe hadn't gotten hurt and would be the clear #1 for the next 4 weeks. Wow. If he's active for the game and Tice indicates he'll play, I'll start him. Hopefully he gets the goalline carries but we know there are no goalline carries in Minn, only passes to Moss and sneaks by Culpepper.

Looking at the NFL schedule...it seems that both K & H and JP will be finished after the 4pm games since either team has any starters from Balt , Wash, Tenn, GB.

K & H has 8 guys going @ 1pm and only going 2 @ 4pm.

JP has 7 going at 1pm and 3 going at 4pm.

So basically K & H have Colbert and Wilkins going against Plummer, Moulds and Holt @ 4pm...

In other words, we better be up by 50+ pts !

Good analysis Empire. A lot of intriguing matchups this week, and not to "steal your thunder", but I think the matchup between Jones Falls Terrace and myself should be a great one!

The two leaders in total points (with less than a point difference) go "toe to toe".

Out of my previous 4 matchups, the game against Skunky Nuggets had me worried. This one I have the same feeling, but hopefully the result is te same! :D

You guys are clearly not in enough leagues if you have this much energy to expend on a single match-up.

After analyzing and assessing the situation, I have concluded that I would like JFT to beat you 80-79. :D

Good luck!

But in case you are interested....I am 4-0 in my home league with most points scored.

That would bring my cumulative record to 7-1 in fantasy football.

Smoke and mirrors, baby !

The score is 14 all in the mile high city. Denver is 2nd and 4 on the Carolina 27. Two back set. Tatum Bell and Reuben Droughns in the backfield.

Plummer takes the snap. He fakes to Bell as Droughns slips his block and is alone in the flat. Droughns breaks a tackle by the cornerback and he's all alone. He's at the 20, the 10, he goes all the way!!! Touchdown.

7.35 points to Plummer
9.2 points to Droughns

It's 6:45 PM ET and Kate and Halle are now down by 7.6
