Don't Believe The Hype!
Mike Tolbert (RB) I SD I – Its official Tolbert is a problem. Or should I say, he is a problem for the Ryan Mathews owners. I know Tolbert’s 2010 season will be dismissed if Ryan Mathews is healthy this year. The bottom line: Tolbert can make plays in the running game and the passing game. He should be a restricted free agent. I believe he stays in San Diego. It looks like Sproles won’t return to the Chargers which the RB roles will change this year in San Diego. There’s no doubt Tolbert will be the backup with Mathews starting. You just wonder about the goal line carries. Tolbert had great success running the ball at the goal line and in short yardage situations last year (11 rushing TD’s). Last year San Diego was one of the better scoring offenses in the league. There should be plenty of chances to go around. I’ll play the middle of the road with Tolbert. I’ll give him 125 carries for 450 yards, 20 catches for 150 yards, and 7 TD’s. One small note: There is no comparison in talent between the two.
Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is.

Peyton Hillis... [/QUOTE]Most of the time talent wins out, but sometimes there are exceptions to the rule because of other factors like:
2010 2011
1. Injuries = Best 1. Mathews
2. Inconsistency = Manningham 2. Meachem
3. Needs opportunity = Foster 3. Jennings
4. Right place at right time = Lloyd 4. Sims-Walker
I will take those players every time over mediocre/declining players (who have jobs ) that get drafted before or in similar area of the draft.
Example:
1. Benson/Turner
2. H.Ward
3. Tolbert
4. Colston
I also draft for September-December and not August. At the end of the day it sounds like you would like to be in my league with my "not very good" team.......

Mathews' stats weren't the storyline to watch for on Thursday; his usage was. Mike Tolbert started over Mathews, gave way to him for a series, and then replaced him inside the Seahawks' ten-yard line. Make no mistake: the Chargers have a full-blown running back committee, and Tolbert by all appearances is the favorite to start. That's going to throw a big wrench into Mathews' breakout potential. Tolbert could end up with more touches.Shouldn't you cite the source or provide a link when you QUOTE someone else's work?
