Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Jan 06, 2006 4:06 am

Our first official signup of 2006 is the tag team of Claire and Jan Gustafson of Denver, Colorado, our 2004 NFFC Mid-Season League Champs who won a free entry into the 2005 main event. Claire & Jan were faciliators at our debut football event, got the bug a bit to enter the mid-season league, won it and then had a blast in the main event at the Palace Station in Las Vegas in September. Their Lost Boys n Golden Girls team finished 6-7 in Las Vegas League 1 with 1,418.4 points and then finished 87th in the Consolation Bowl with 476.31 points. They now have the bug so bad they became our first signups for 2006 and are already planning for Draft Day (and when to pick those Broncos!). We're honored to have you ladies back as our first signup of 2006 and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. I'll see you at the Stardust in March for our baseball draft and then again at the Stardust in September for the NFFC!! Good luck.

Rick Hart of Sumter, South Carolina becomes our second official signup of 2006 as he's ready to draft RIGHT NOW!!! Rick is one of our most passionate players and he will be returning to Chicago for the second straight year for the NFFC's main event and the Draft Champions League. Rick won the New York vs. Chicago Grudge Match League and already has that league filled for Year 2. Congrats on that one, Rick, and we'll accommodate that league and any other grudge match leagues this year. Rick's Dark Side of the Moon team finished 7-6 in Chicago League 4 last year with 1,634.2 points, placing third in the league in total points and 70th overall. Dark Side of the Moon then finished 63rd in the Consolation Bowl with 493.16 points. His Louisiana Lightning team didn't have the same kind of success in the Chicago Draft Champions League as it finished 12th with 2,048.05 points, but Rick is back for more this year. Welcome back, Rick, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Jan 06, 2006 7:22 am

Although they haven't won the grand prize yet, the tag team of Kyle Pope of Shelby Township, Michigan and Derek Anderson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana has been one of our most successful teams in the NFFC's first two seasons. Kyle and Derek led their Lumpy's Losers team to their second straight league title in 2005, becoming the only repeat champion from 2004. They went 10-3 to win the head-to-head title and $5,000, while also leading the league in total points. Lumpy's Losers then finished seventh in the Consolation Round with 544.41 points to earn another $1,250. The pair also split $12,500 in the NFFC Ultimate League as they finished fifth in total points during the regular season and then defeated Detroit Adroit and Follow Me in the playoffs to reach the Championship Game. They fell to Sid Ash For Cash, 145.8-102.65, but still finished second in the league.

Lumpy's Losers finished fourth in the Las Vegas Auction League with 1,624.6 points and lost in the first round of the playoffs to Team Maguire and finished fifth in the Las Vegas Draft Champions League with 2,316.6 points. Overall, Lumpy's Losers rank sixth among all teams in the Lifetime Standings. Kyle and Derek will return in 2006 to the Stardust in Las Vegas to compete in the NFFC's main event, Auction League, Draft Champions League and the Ultimate League. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $40,000 Ultimate League prize, $4,250 Draft Champions league prize and the $4,000+ available in Auction League prizes. See ya in Sin City!

Let's give it up for Matthew Bauler of Memphis, Tennessee, who will be returning to the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 2nd for the NFFC's main event. Matthew was an original member of the NFFC in 2004 and he will be returning for his third season of competition. He led his chitown surprise team to a 5-8 record and 1,421.35 points in Las Vegas League 4 last year, but turned it on in the Consolation Bowl by finishing 31st overall with 525.99 points. Welcome back, Matthew, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, and best of luck to your beloved Bears in the NFL playoffs.

Let's officially welcome back our defending NFFC champions as the tag team of Josh and Sid Ferenc of San Carlos, California will be returning to the NFFC's main event in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Josh and Sid led their Gantze Machers team to the overall title by finishing with 600.4 points, winning the $100,000 grand prize by a mere 2.09 points. Gantze Machers also won $5,000 for winning Las Vegas League 3 with a 12-1 record, while also leading the NFFC in Total Points during the regular season with 1,979.9 points. Great job guys and you definitely earned the title and the $105,000 as your team was dominant for 16 straight weeks. We look forward to putting your picture on the cover of Fantasy Sports Magazine this summer holding the $100,000 check and we'll formally give you the crystal trophy before this year's draft in Las Vegas. Josh has also signed up for the Draft Champions League in Las Vegas this year on Friday, Sept. 1st, so we'll get to toast his victory for two straight days. Welcome back, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

We're glad to welcome back Patrick Welsh of New Port Richey, Florida to the NFFC in 2006 as he is expanding his fun in Chicago this year with entries in the NFFC's main event and the Draft Champions League. Patrick led his God Loves You team to a 6-7 record in Chicago League 5, just missing out on a money finish as he placed fourth in the league with 1,640.65 points, good enough for 64th overall in the contest. God Loves You then finished 73rd in the Consolation Round with 488.06 points. Patrick returns for a second year to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Sept. 1-2 and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:11 am

Chris Schinker of West Allis, Wisconsin has been in just about every event we've offered in baseball and football since 2004 and he's not slowing down anytime soon (thankfully!). Chris became one of our first 2006 signups in Las Vegas as he quickly grabbed the first spots in our $1,250 NFFC Auction League and the Ultimate Draft League, while also adding the main event at the Stardust Resort & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. Chris will pay one of those with the free entry he won in the Wednesday Mid-Season League as his gigglin marlin team finished first with 1,716.8 points. Gigglin Marlin also finished second in the Las Vegas $650 Auction League 2 as it was second in total points during the regular season with 1,691.6 and then made it to the championship game before losing to Team Maguire 121.25-109.8. Gigglin marlin also finished 7-6 in Las Vegas League 1 of the main event this year and was 11th in the Las Vegas Draft Champions 1 League with 2,048.9 points. Great job this year, Chris, and best of luck in 2006 in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $40,000 Ultimate Draft League prize and the $8,000+ in prizes in the Auction League. See ya in Las Vegas in September.
