Guys wanted to thank you all for a great season. I have had a blast and frankly learned alot about high stakes/14 team leagues that employ our free agent system.
I am currently 5-7 after starting 5-2. A few things got me:
A. The Randy Moss injury...I was the only team in the league that had Moss and Culpepper on the same team...Moss's injury hurt production from both obviously.
B. Losing Charlie Garner so early.
C. Losing Terry Glenn
D. Losing Joey Galloway so early.
E. After losing Garner spending 751 free agents dollars on Leonard Henry and 101 on Brock Forsey...embarrassing I know.
I drafted as follows: 1/7 R. Moss 2/22 Culpepper 3rd round Tony Gonzalez 4. C. Garner 5. Emmitt Smith
I still don't regret not taking RB's early because Emmitt had a decent year and but for injury I liked Garner. My major mistake was bad use of free agent dollars(which left me no money to bid on breakout studs) and keeping players I thought might perform well later at the expense of continuing to start Kevin Johnson types.
This league is tough and solid. I am 10-2 and the top scoring team in my local league...should be on my way to winning it... I certainly see the difference here in skill and commitment.
I have enjoyed the message board and thank you guys for the insightfull comments...whether I agreed or not I enjoyed all of them.
I will be back next year and hope to bring a few friends...great job to Greg and Tom and let's hit that 608 next year!
Happy holidays!
Mark

Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?
