He does.

I was asking the other day if any Qb throws 40 tds this season - I think if anyone does it's Rodgers.

I agree. And a real shot at flirting w/ Marino's 5000 yds.

Rodgers - I know it's pre-season

I was doing my weekly radio show the other day and a caller asked if he should take Rodgers with the fifth overall pick. I told him I thought that was too high despite the fact I like Rodgers a lot and believe he's going to have a huge season.

Now I'm wondering if my advice was off the mark.

The Packers' offense looks downright frightening. They are going to move the ball on any defense and put up plenty of points. Rodgers is playing like a Hall of Famer, Finley looks like one of this year's biggest breakout superstars and the WR talent and depth is incredible. Donald Driver is pushing 50 and he's still one of the best WRs in the game. Jennings sits out last night and Jones steps in and plays well. I think Rodgers has entrenched himself as a Top 10 pick this season and I don't think it would be a reach to take him fifth overall once the Top 4 stud RBs are off the board. He's that good.

The biggest thing that scares me about this offense (from a fantasy perspective other than Rodgers) is that with so many mouths the ball can get spread around and it makes everyone a little vanilla. Kind of like what happens in New Orleans. Colston, Meachum, Moore, Henderson, Shockey, Bush, Thomas, etc... Saints could score 38 and Colston could go 3-34.

Rodgers is primed for a big year but that ball will get spread around with so many mouths to feed.

Rodgers is primed for a big year but that ball will get spread around with so many mouths to feed. I was at the game last night with two of my kids and it was one of those glorious nights at Lambeau Field from a weather standpoint. High 70s at kickoff and just a fun atmosphere with a younger audience just happy to be in Lambeau. And the game was electric from the start.

While the Packers were impressive, I must admit it was just fun to watch Peyton Manning. He is so damn good. I mean, Rodgers is great right now, but the throws Peyton makes reminds me of one other QB I used to watch at Lambeau. He throws that sideline 50-60 yarder so effortlessly and accurately that you just shake your head. It's fun any chance you get to watch a Hall of Fame QB and Peyton is truly something special. Colts fans, you get a treat each Sunday and I hope you enjoy it.

The Packers have a LOT of problems on defense and they will be exposed big-time in the regular season. But that offense is now very, very good. They still need to run the ball better, but they established it enough last night to free Rodgers from a big pass rush. The line protected very well last night and Rodgers just picked his targets at will. Finley is just a BEAST on the outside matched against any safety. I can't believe how good he's gotten, but he catches almost everything and is tough to stop in the Red Zone. Driver looked very good last night and so did James Jones. They didn't even have Jennings last night, which is scary.

I don't see these wideouts going vanilla. In fact, the Packers' D could give up so many points that they will need to keep scoring to win games. That just means more production for Rodgers and the rest. This could be a special offensive year in Green Bay if everyone stays healthy and the line keeps Rodgers upright. At least that's the way it looks in pre-season. ;)

Nelson > Jones

sooo why is Jones the 3rd WR?? Is it because Nelson is SOOOO much better then Blackman on Special teams and want him rested?

and Yes the Packers should worry about their "D" this year......
