Just wondering why MDC isn't being used for the drafts anymore.

Why the seperation from NFFC & mock draft central?

Two reasons. The first and most important is we've built our own draft room. We built it for both of our baseball and football events. From a cost savings perspective, this was the way to go. It also will provide a much smoother transition in terms of setting up the rosters for every league. Now once the draft is over, you can immediately go to your team page and see your roster and the rosters for everyone in your league. In the past, we had to wait for STATS to set everything up for us and because they had a lot of other things on their plate that took some time. But now the online draft to league set up time has been reduced to zero. That's a very nice option for all of you to have.

Secondly, MDC has an exclusive working relationship with another event. So even if we wanted to work with them we would not be able to under the terms of that agreement.

You won't even need a log-in for the mock drafts. It was first designed as software for our baseball and football events, but now it will be a competitor to MDC and other draft sites. We are going to direct a lot of traffic to this new site and mocks will be going off several times an hour, allowing you to pick any spot you want to draft from in many different game formats. ADPs will be accumulated from each of the different formats and one of the categories will be 12-team and 14-team NFFC drafts using 3RR.

As Tom stated, the industry dictated that we had to build our own draft software to host satellite leagues and online drafts. The competition tried to keep others out of this space by signing an exclusive football deal with MDC.com. All it did was force others to either find a new partner or build the software themselves. We are building ours and will unveil it for everyone no later than early next week and I'm very confident you'll like the new industry mock draft site. It will have its own URL and be separate from the NFFC, but of course all NFFC owners will have access to it directly from their team pages and mock as much as they want. It looks great, works great and will be a great recruiting tool for the NFFC.
