Trent Richardson's Turning Pro

No surprise to hear today that Richardson has decided to turn pro and will enter the April draft. He projects as a Top 10 pick. Of the teams picking there, the Browns, Bucs and maybe the Redskins are the ones that could be looking to upgrade the RB position. If Richardson falls out of the Top 10, he could drop for awhile, assuming no one traded up to get him. The next team with a potential RB hole to address is Cincinnati at 21.

What do you think of Richardson's fantasy potential for 2012 and where do you think he ends up?

Actually the bengals have pick 17 and 21 Tom. And I'm hoping he falls to us because we surely need him! I think he will be a starting RB for somebody in 2012 and could be a good fantasy option depending on where that is.

He would be a steal and great fit in Cincy for sure....also I wonder if new orleans will trade Ingram or 1 of their other rbs...

Trade Ingram?? Why on Earth would they do that? I really don't see it -

Payton likes a solid rotation - Pierre / Ivory / Ingram will be their RB's with Sproles in the same role he had this year -

W Ingram seems like he's wasted there and not a good fit...his trade value may be low tho.

I missed the Bengals pick at 17. Maybe they would consider packaging both of their firsts to move up to get Richardson.

I also don't see the Saints trading Ingram. They traded up to get him and Payton loves him. They just happen to have a real good thing going with two other strong RBs so there was no reason to give Ingram more touches than he was getting. Ingram's not going anywhere in all probability.

He ought to be a top 5 pick. He consistently produced against the best defenses in the country, has low mileage on his tires, and is extremely talented.

I just think he seems a bit injury prone and didn't look to be that much better than the saints 4th string rb Ivory and definitely not better than Pierre Thomas...they need defensive help and I think saints will regret not unloading him while they may have the chance.

I think he could be a Ray Rice type talent at the next level. I would be shocked if he slipped out of the top ten or if someone like the Bengals didn't attempt to trade up to get him.

[/QUOTE]I think Ingram is their most talented pure runner. Thomas is their best combination of RB and receiver and Sproles is the X Factor. Ivory runs hard but I don't see anything special with him.

One reason why the Saints drafted Ingram was because they knew Thomas couldn't hold up if he was getting 15-20 touches consistently. This season, they managed his touches and he stayed healthy and has been very productive. I don't think it's a coincidence that Ingram's arrival helped Thomas a lot. So did Sproles.

It's a great combination the Saints have. Sucks for Ingram owners in fantasy but it's been working great for them. And Ivory has done a nice job filing in with Ingram out.
