It's funny how much business you can get done over beers!!! :D

Last weekend at the ESPN Radio 1000 Fantasy Football Championship in Chicago, Tom and I broke bread and beers with Jason Pliml and Geoff Stein of MockDraftCentral.com. Also there was Ted Kasten of DraftDynamix.com and we started talking about compiling our NFFC Satellite League ADPs and offering them to our valuable NFFC customers. It was a good conversation, but most of it was hard to remember the next morning!! :D

But today we picked up the conversation again and Jason showed how he can compile the data from our 39 satellite leagues to date and create a special ADP list from all of our paid leagues. He created a PDF and will now sell that data online for $19.99. I believe he is sending out an e-mail to our NFFC members tonight and posting a link on their site. We don't have any more satellite leagues this week, so this is the final version of data for all NFFC members (and non-members).

The PDF lists players in order, their ADP number, Earliest selected spot, Latest selected spot and number of leagues they were drafted out of 39. Much of the same info you get on MDC.com through the premium package, but this ADP comes only from our paid $100, $250, $500 and $1,000 satellite leagues.

This is the first time we've offered this, and honestly Geoff and Jason did all the work, but I'm sure it's something we'll do in baseball and football going forward. Go to www.mockdraftcentral.com if you want to order the PDF for $19.99. Good luck everyone.

Looks like a great deal, Greg. You can get the COMPLETE set of data for a very fair price.

Do the participants who PAID to be in these satellites also have to pay for this data?

Hmmm, I'm not so sure how I feel about this annoucement. I'll give it some thought, but it brings up a few issues for me.

And I, at this point, agree with RiFF's post.

I was in 3 of those but I don't care if the compiled results are made available. The data is interesting but not very predictive of YOUR draft.

First, recent events have shuffled the deck. Some players/teams have looked terrible in pre-season games 2 and 3 and are dropping while others are rising fast. Some sleepers have gone into coma while others have risen from the grave. You'll forgive me for not giving examples.

Second, each draft has a unique flavor. In one of my drafts there was an early QB run and in another the QBs went late. The ADP would not be indicative of either draft. A couple of picks can change a whole draft.

Everybody has favorite teams and favorite players. There are players that have won you a championship and others that have disappointed. It's hard to evaluate these objectively so these biases become random events in the draft and ripple throughout. Trent Green killed me last year so I won't touch him but perhaps he's a great sleeper backup now that he's in Miami. I'm sure more prominent names are on "must have" or "don't draft" lists based on history.

I have followed ADPs very carefully this season by looking at individual drafts on MDC and Antsports. The "value" players I have identified as going late do not go late in "shark" drafts. I've gotten in trouble by thinking "x" will be there at my next turn.

Bottom line, probably good reading at $19.99 but really useful for the Main Event... doubtful.

I will vote with JP here - several of those drafts were months ago, so it will throw off the averages of the later drafts.

Interesting but overpriced and not worth much - unless you grab that instead of a magazine.

Some good points here. Additionally, quite a few of these drafts were Draft Champion format, which would further skew the results.

There's no question Rich that going forward we'll provide this as an incentive for all satellite league participants. Heck, I hope we can work with Jesse over at the WCOFF to offer a pair of informative ADPs. But this is something that we compiled quickly this year and I promise we'll expand it for the participants in the future, providing ADPs per month to show trends, etc.

Jules, we have results from 39 different paid mocks, so there's a wide range of results from different months and two different formats. It might not be information for everyone, but it's data that's available, good or bad. If anyone wants it, fine. If not, that's fine too. It was data that seemed unused at the time and seemed to make sense for some who wanted it.

Yes, I'd love to reward the folks who helped us compile this data and we'll figure that out in the future price of the satellites. I should have had the $100 satellites at $110 anyway as I lost money on every one of those. Now for free ADPs, it makes sense to increase that level next year without possibly adjusting the other levels. I felt guilty increasing that one this year and didn't do it, but if I can add more value next year it makes sense to all.

Use it or not, no problem to me. Good luck all and we'll see ya in a few days.

You can get recent drafts at BFDFANTASYfootball.com and only pay $14.95

With great analysis AND comments from the people who drafted in some of the leagues as "What I was thinking"

Draft dates as recent as the 23rd and 25th. If you don't want to pay attention to DM drafts.

You dont have to.

Cheaper, and better.

Nice.
