This one I have to comment on. First of all, don't forget we'll have a Welcome Reception on Friday at 5 p.m. with a special guest speaker (still waiting on confirmation) and some drinks to boot. No big deal if you can't make it, but it's a good place to meet some of the NFFC guys and get to know some of the guys in your league.
No wakeup calls for me or your dead. My kids will already call at 5:00, since it will be 7:00 back home. So at least give me that extra hour of sleep, okay?
Atlantic City? Serious? I was there last summer for the National Sports Collectors Convention and it was the lowest attended event in our 24-year history. Weekends are tough to get there and I'm not sure where you would host it. That new one, maybe?
Some other contests are trying that this year. I think there are some Indian casinos out there that are better options. But I still think hosting this in New York City where most people can get to is the best option. I'll gladly listen to any other options for baseball or football in New York in 2005 as we don't have any signed contract with the Hilton or Javits Center yet. Please advise.

I may be wrong but...
New York drafters will be "commuting" for the most part. Moving the venue to a casino would require at least an overnight, maybe 2 for multiple events.
New York drafters could drive to A.C. or Foxwoods whenever they want, they don't need a fantasy sports event to do that.
New York drafters that want to make an event weekend out of it could almost as easily go to Vegas.
Conclusion: It can't make the event more attractive to move it out of Manhattan but moving it out of Manhattan could create enough of an obstacle to lose a few teams. IMHO

Manhattan sounds like it is the prime spot for the draft...You guys know what you're doing. I'm in if you have the draft in Timbuktu...lol..And BillyWaz, that is a weekend of Champions!

Just a suggestion....
I'm new to the site, but you wanted some suggestions. The DC area is within a 4-hour drive from New York, would pull a larger "Southern" contingent (realize this is not fantasy NASCAR, but they like football down here as well), and is cheaper to stage than New York. If you think this is too far south, Baltimore might be an even better setup. I can't offer anything, but there are ESPN Zones in both Baltimore and Washington. They might welcome 200+ people paying $10 each for a 32 oz. Guinness.

A unique idea for next year's NFFC draft is a 3 day cruise (usually leaves at 5:00 P.M. on a Friday, returning on a Monday A.M.). One cruise could initiate out of Florida & one out of Long Beach, CA. Bottom line, for approx. $100/day/person for the cruise cost that includes all of your food & non-alcoholic beverages, this is truly a bargain compared to the hotels in Vegas, Chicago or NY. The cruise has gaming & "draft/conference rooms" plus a captured audience of fantasy football fanatics that can smack talk during the entire cruise. Think about it...what a blast!!!!
