$1300 Draft Champions League?

Mike is trying to convince me to go back on my statement I would not be playing any events with the NFFC after the baseball issues this year so I came by to see how signups for the $1300 DC were going since we had made that a staple of our trip to Vegas. I can't find any information on the MB's or the signup page for this event. Has this event been replaced in favor of the $850 DC Championship? If so, well then that just makes my decision that much easier. Can someone enlighten me where to find information about this event if it still exists?
Thanks,
Craig

Thanks Bill! Trust me it pained me to ever make a statement like I did on the baseball boards as my love and passion for fantasy sports goes very deep, but alot of fun was sapped out of me this year in baseball. We shall see what transpires financially for me and Mike in the upcoming months, but as of now with no $1300(individual) DC league to be a part of it probably will not happen. Might be for the best to take a year off of football since I have only placed in the money once in 6 tries over the last 2 years. OUCH! LOL Anyway, thanks for the reply and best of luck!

You could do TWO $850 DCs for $1700, which is "almost" like $1300?!

Yes we could but I have always been an advocate of higher league payouts and don't play in formats anymore where money is taken from leagues and paid out to an overall champion. Just a personal preference and no disprespect meant towards that type of event or anyone playing in them.
Craig, I voiced this opinion when it was announced there will be no individual DC leagues. It wouldn't be fair to say it fell on deaf ears, because an explanation was offered (they are trying to grow DCs), but i really dislike an overall contests for DCs!!!! Unfortunately, I really like DCs, thus I'm playing!

Just a suggestion....
In baseball, a few New Yorkers didn't want to give up the $1300 auction that they had played in for years.
Greg & Tom allowed them to create a $1300 auction that was part of the $800 overall championship. The $500 diference in entry fees all went back into the league prizes.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but maybe it's a compromise that'll work.

Glenn Correct. Craig, we will fill at least two DC's in Las Vegas this year and enough folks want a $1300 DC we'll provide the additional available prize money to the leagues to strengthen that better. I have a feeling there are enough people to make this happen, so if you want me to see if we can fill one let me know. Same to Jules and Mark and anyone else who has been in the $1300 DC in the past.
As for entering events with the highest league prizes, we have the NFFC Super at 90%, the NFFC Ultimate at 92.5% and the Diamond at 95.8%. And I am going to change the schedule for the 12-teamers on Friday, Sept. 10th to hopefully a better draft time to see if we can fill more Supers there if folks like that payout so much.
Craig, thanks for checking back with us for football and if it doesn't work out this year it doesn't work out. The NFBC did get off to a slow start like your Super team, but like your Super team things have improved dramatically. Let's both finish strong in baseball. We'll make sure football gets off to a better start and if it works out come and join us. If not, I'll understand.
I understand this about wanting only higher league prizes and no national contests, and as Mark states below you're not the only one to voice this opinion to me Jules, but we feel that having national champions and larger payouts in these formats will grow the exposure for both formats. It would be easier and more profitable for us to do just individual leagues and not meet new guarantees across the board, but we've seen through the years that neither format has grown much with just league prizes. We hope the national format grows both spaces this year and every year going forward and if we're wrong for trying to grow this space then we'll find out from all of you.
We did hear the same thing in the NFBC, but I think the Auction Championship has been successful there. I really hope it's successful in the NFFC, but again we'll find out from all of you and it will dictate what we do in this area in the future.
