What do you consider the worst draft slot?

Post by pizzatyme » Sun Jul 08, 2007 2:13 am

Everyone will have their favorites this year using KDS. But I am curious what everyone considers the worst slot this season?

I know it all depends on how the draft goes, but for me, I think the worst slot is the 10 hole. I think the majority of the sure-thing first rounders are gone and then decision time comes here.

Your thoughts?
2008- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic.
2009- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic or Primetime.

Anyone I'm drafting from. :(

As my friend would tell you. He said to me
'John your not good, everyone else is just bad'. Just because I do well in Yahoo Leagues, makes me not good?

But my answer would be you want to draft has high as you can. So 14 would be the worst spot to draft from.

6 & 7

My KDS going forward might look like this:

1, 2, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

So are we talking worst draft pick in Reality or Theory?

In theory you can make a case for several spots:
#9 - out of the top RB and have to guess from the next couple
#3 - they take LT2 and SJ and now you have to guess whether to go with LJ or Gore - one could be very wrong
and others,....But

In reality, you just won't know until:
1) You see the draft spots for your league - if you are between TCH and GG you could be in for a long day (assuming they both bring their "A" game)
JUST examples before the rest of you Champs jump off a cliff or start typing - What about me...
2) You are actually at your draft table and see what happens and who your choices are - the drafters in front of you in the first round are equally capable of gift wrapping a HUGE present for you OR giving you a migraine taking the player(s) you are Sure would be there for your pick

Ask me September 2 and I can at least answer about #2

I don't like 5 or 6 just because I'm equally happy with players 5-7 on my cheatsheet so I would just as soon have an earlier pick in the 2nd round where I might get one of the 4 2nd round RB's I like or one of my top 2 receivers. Late 2nd round receivers all look about the same to me.

I try to hit the last draft pick on my tiers.

Pick 11 - By then you are probably dropping a tier in backs, even if there is a reach pick before you. And, you aren't close enough to the end of the round to work the turn and try to plan out 2 picks. You are probably ending up with a late-first round talent and an average second round talent....not too exciting.
Pick 5 - There's not much difference between the 5th RB and the 8th, so you might as well pick a little later.

This is a good topic.....interesting discussion.
