"The Fantasy Perspective"- Week #7
Posted: Fri Oct 22, 2010 9:51 pm
Hello all,
With all of the great fantasy football minds in this community, I think it would be great if we could tap into it for entertainment and educational purposes.
What I'm proposing is a weekly thread where we share our thoughts going into the weekend and reflections after what we've seen transpire.
I'd hope this thread would be void of ego and full of a common interest of entertaining each other with our "takes" on what we expect and what we actually saw.
Maybe, if it takes to life, some of the content could be used by the "suits" to enhance their efforts elsewhere to entertain the masses. At a minimum, it would serve to give us a structured forum on a weekly basis for our own entertainment.
Rules of the game in this thread:
-There is no right or wrong "take".
-Check your ego at the door.
-Share as often as you can. Hopefully weekly.
If this goes nowhere, that's okay. I just know from speaking with several of you previously, there is more to be had from this group.
So, with that said, I'll get it started with a few thoughts of my own...
Would a 2 QB system work for the Eagles this year? Imagine the lack of sleep for DCs trying to prepare for both Kolb and Vick? Obviously, it wouldn't work long term contract wise, but man, that would be fun to watch!
The Colts are a 59 yard FG away from being 5-1, yet they are getting it done with smoke and mirrors IMO. Their Defense and Special "Ed" Teams are terrible. Their run game is bad. Their OL is not good. Manning and his targets are treading water. And now they are dropping like flies. I see a limp to the finish line for them.
Based on what I saw Colt McCoy do against the Steelers, I'm thinking what were the Browns waiting for?
No peewee football coach I have ever met coaches to turn your body into a missile and launch at a player without the least bit of effort to "wrap up". Sorry Mr. Harrison, that not how you've been coached since junior football.
How much of this is caused by how it gets sensationalized by ESPN, etc.? I don't want to see a player die on the field. I also don't want to run into former players that suffer from these and other hits like clubbing to the head, etc.
I hate the Patriots, but I admire Tom Brady's leadership and willingness to say what is on his mind.
Does Singletary make it past this weekend if the 9ers lose to the lowly Panthers?
Kyle Orton is doing his best Peyton Manning impression thus far.
Dallas coaching staff is wasting tons of talent on both sides of the ball. How can Jerry Jones be so patient? Then again, who, besides himself could he turn to this season to turn it around?
My top 3 "Pretenders":
Bears, Chiefs, and Jets. None of these are legitimate SB contenders.
My top 3 "Contenders":
Ravens, Steelers, Vikings. First 2 are obvious, if IF Favre doesn't fall apart, I like the Vikes to make a huge run and go all the way.
My 3 favorite teams few care about:
Lions- I think they've turned the Matt Millen corner.
Rams- Bradford is doing amazing things!
Seahawks- Pete Carroll gets it right this time!
Ok, that's it for now. I hope many of you hop in. The water is warm...
