One Undefeated NFFC Team Remains

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Nov 09, 2004 8:50 am

After nine weeks of action in the NFFC, only one team remains undefeated. That is, not surprisingly, Team NEW of Las Vegas League 5, which is also our current overall points leader with 1,432.65 points. Team NEW (Mike Ward of Stamford, Florida) is 9-0 and has a three game lead in LV 5 with four games left. Congratulations Mike and keep the run going.

We also have one Auction League team that remains undefeated after nine weeks. Fandango (led by Scott Simonetti) is 9-0 in the New York Auction League and has a two-game lead with four weeks to go. Congratulations Scott and keep the run going.

Here we are after 10 weeks and Team NEW of Las Vegas League 5 remains the only undefeated team in the National Fantasy Football Championship, improving its record to 10-0 and its overall points lead to 1,582.2. Congratulations Mike Ward of Stamford, Florida. With one more win, you will have sewed up the $5,000 league prize.

Fandango (led by Scott Simonetti) also remained unbeaten in the New York Auction League, improving to 10-0 with a win this week. Fandango is second in overall points with 1,422.35 and headed toward a first-round bye. Congratulations Scott and keep the run going.

Good luck everyone during the last three weeks of the regular season.

Here's a few more statistical nuggets to chew on after 10 weeks of head-to-head competition. There is only one 9-1 team left in the competition, that being in Chicago League 4. There are three winless teams in the NFFC and six 1-9 teams. But for the most part, every single NFFC league has close races for the top spot and of course the next two cash spots. Good luck everyone the rest of the way.

Greg, here's another nugget. Team Cannataro, which I'm part of, is the 9-1 team you speak of in Chi 4. Our one loss happened to be the same week, we scored our most pts. in a week so far, we lost 143-139. This was also in week #1.

WOW, looks like you must have had some favorable matchups with the schedule this year!

Do you guys hang out with "Kate & Halle"?

Let's give it up for Team NEW and Fandango again as both teams remain 11-0 and perfect in their leagues. Team NEW continues to lead the NFFC's overall point total with 1,730.45 and won Las Vegas League 5 with this week's 11th straight win. Congratulations Mike Ward.

Fandango earned a first-round bye in the Auction League playoffs by wrapping up the Ambrosius Division of the New York Auction League. Fandango is 11-0 with 1,540.15 points. Congratulations Scott Simonetti.

Let's give it up once again for Team NEW, which improved its record in Las Vegas League 5 to 12-0 with another win this week. Team NEW leads the NFFC in total points with 1,869.7 and has already won the $5,000 league prize. Congratulations Mike Ward and keep it going.

Our only other unbeaten team in the NFBC contest was Fandango in the New York Auction League. But Fandango was beaten by Alive & Kicking this week to fall to 11-1. Good run Scott Simonetti and good luck in the playoffs.

We'll see if Team NEW can complete the perfect regular season run next week as we wind down with Week 13 action.
