NEW DIE HARDS LEAGUE

I knew it was coming. They have big plans. Be interesting to see how well they can execute those plans. NFFC and FFPC are more than worthy competition for them, but they do have a way to reach a ton of new players, which is great for the industry as a whole if they can pull it off, but not exactly sure how it would impact the NFFC and FFPC. Ian has great ideas though, and is a crafty guy. I don't like his waiver system though so I may not play too much over there:)

What is the waiver system?

I listened to a podcast announcing this contest but it seemed like they weren't very far along yet.

Their system is not a system yet, nor is it what the NFFC should do in my view. We will have to wait and see like you said.

God Bless America for allowing anyone the freedom to roll out new ideas, but that's a lot of guaranteed prize money for a new contest!!! $200,000 for a Main Event, $125,000 for a $500 league (!!!), $100,000 for a $300 Online Championship when we've all said that this is the one area where people may cut back teams?? After just seeing Dustin shoot for the moon and falling waaaaaaay short, it's surprising that a new contest would go for the very highest amounts in all levels of play. Go Big or Go Home, right? :D

I mean, I'd like to be the biggest contest in the industry too, but I also want to live for years and years to come. We want to be aggressive this year, but we're going to be smart about it. And I think in today's market and with some of the changes we're all being forced to make, the consumer will understand a smart business plan. This almost looks like "BE THE BIGGEST IN EVERYTHING OR DON'T ENTER AT ALL!!"

We'll see how it plays out, but I have a feeling that consumers will be smart with their money in 2012.
