Anyone consistantly double their money in NFFC?

Lots of discussion about rankings and lifetime achievement. How about consistent financial return?

If you were going to convince investors you were a sound risk ... you would need to show that you could consistently make money at this from year to year (not just have one good year).

Who has at least doubled you money in the last 2 years? ... 3 years? ... 4 years? If you were in 9 events and it cost you $2350 to enter them all ... did you cash at least $4700? (Include free entries or credit in that because that is part of your return)

When we play for a big prize like 100k ... it does make it harder to double your money consistently (since we are somewhat playing for the big payday over consistent return).

Even so ... to convince me you are not just one of many good FF players who are throwing their hat in the ring and trying for big money. I want to hear who has doubled their money in multiple years. I don't want to know what you made or invested ... just that you doubled your money more than once ... Just curious.

In NFFC events, I more than doubled my $$ in 2004, and more than tripled it in 2006.

I guess I like the even years, and happy it is 2008! :D

By the way, check your math above. Entry fees for the main event were $1,250 from 2004 through 2006, and increased to $1,300 in 2007. I believe the auction was $600 in 2004, and then went to $650 in 2005.

ETA: you took down the original post!

[/QUOTE]Yep, hopefully we will need a bigger boat!! ;)

I did take it down because I read what Mike said at the end of his post.

I had the auction at $650 every year, but I think I had the rest correct.

I actually like seeing the fact that we are putting together rankings in all the different areas and net return would be interesting as many folks often talk about winning this, that and the other thing but a net return is truly what should matter to most. Winning 3 leagues is great but if you entered 20, you might still have been net negative.

For me I have netted 4 times my investment since inception in the NFFC events. There have been some great teams, some absolute abysmal ones but in the end, regardless of my lifetime rank I feel happy and hope to continue the success while having a heckuva lotta fun along the way since that is what it is all about.

Oh and not to dodge UYT's original post I have been fortunate to at least double my investment in 3 of the 4 years.

UYT, I don't normally like to toot my own horn, but since you asked I will share my results here as well. I have doubled or better in two of the three years I have played in the NFFC events. I don't always play the main event so that helps my ROI. I've done better in the odd years, so this year will probably stink.

2005 - won 4,650 on 1,900 invested, 144% return
2006 - won 2,000 on 1,300 invested, 54% return
2007 - won 4,575 on 1,300 invested, 252% return
2008 - ???

This doesn't include a couple hundred spent on 2 satellites. I enjoy the NFFC so much, I think I'd be happy if I just made half my money back and chalk the rest up as entertainment expense. I might win more if I didn't have to compete against you in the Chicago DC. You are having a great year again (so far). Good luck the rest of the way.

BTW UYT as the original poster, how has the NFFC been to you? Your name always seems to be up there across events too....

That is very nice also ... you should count the satellites as well though as they are part of your investment. We have spent over a grand on satellites and have only made $275 on them ... so I feel your pain there.
