Sharpe Eyeing TV Gig?

Post by Tom Kessenich » Fri May 14, 2004 7:10 am

From KFFL.com: Updating a previous report, Adam Schefter, of the Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos TE Shannon Sharpe, who is a candidate to be an analyst on CBS' The NFL Today show, is scheduled to fly to New York on Tuesday, May 18, to meet with CBS executives. "There is interest on Shannon's part," said Sharpe's agent, Marvin Demoff. "I don't think he ever contemplated this happening this year, so I think he's looking at it for the first time and trying to balance his desire to be on the Broncos, because he thinks they're going to be really good, and the uniqueness of this opportunity. But Shannon's pretty good at figuring things out."

Sharpe Eyeing TV Gig?

You're welcome. But since I drafted Sharpe in an experts draft I recently took part in, it pained me to post this one. That's what I get for ignoring one of my strongest draft rules -- never take a TE until you're nearing the end of your draft. I got Sharpe in the 8th round of the FantasyGuru.com Experts Draft and only took him because there were no WRs on the board I liked a lot and there's a 1 point/reception rule which made Sharpe more appealing than the other TEs still on the board. I debated between Sharpe and Onterrio Smith, who was the only good RB left, and took Sharpe. At the time I thought I might regret that pick and now it's looking like I'm really going to regret it. Oh well.
