Does Belichick hate FF?

Post by dgamblnman » Mon Nov 08, 2004 3:06 pm

belichick has always had a reputation of manipulating the injury list and doesn't completely follow NFL rules. First, Dillon has a slight leg problems.... he doesn't play last week. This week, kept saying Dillon probably isn't ready to play...

Needles to say, I started Dillon last week and sat him this week (Had to choose between Westbrook and Dillon). It could cost me the game this week unless Burlsen scores 10 points... does BB hate FF football, or is he out to get me?

This is just a rant...... I feel for my fellow Dillon owners.

VEGAS....I had Graham, Patten, and K Faulk yesterday. Pats score 40 points and I can count the points from three players on both hands. Nice to see COACH got the ball to his defensive stud and Punt returner. ;)

It's official, Belichick cost me the game the week....

Don't know if Dillon is going to play, gee look at all the plays he got, I think he was doing pretty fine....

Still a rant.....

to answer your question, Belichick will continue to deceive fantasy owners every week. you should have know that when you selected dillon.

I know, but still, he is pushing the limits of the NFL injury guidelines.....

He did the same thing 4 weeks ago, luckily, it was a 1:00 game where I changed my lineup and he scored 26 points.

I wish NE played at 1:00 so I could have done the same......

What I find most interesting is that this year the NFL attempted to crack down on teams that were manipulating the injury list or not being totally forthcoming, attempting to lay out stronger guidelines and even fine teams that didn't compile totally with the rules and regulations established.

So what's happened? Teams have gone even further into the realm of secrecy. It used to be if a player was listed as questionable you could be pretty darn sure he was going to play that week. Now just about everyone is listed as questionable and there's really no way of having any idea during the week who is going to play and who is going to sit.

Belichick and Shanahan have always been two of the worst offenders, but it's become more and more widespread this season than I can recall at any time in the last 14 years that I've covered the NFL as a beat writer and now working in the fantasy industry.

I agree, Tom, and you can add Steve Mariucci and Mike Holmgren to the list of coaches I'd like to choke.

Well Holmgren, Shanahan and Mooch all fall from the same family tree. :D

They learned well from the master, Mr. Walsh. And Vegas, an example of SF's cunning happened in Week 5 when SF played with the injury report to where I benched Eric Johnson and his 35 points for McCareins and his 5 and you only beat me by 20. So I feel your pain when it comes to the bogus injury reports. My only problem with this is that in my opinion they are only messing with the gambling side of the sport. all of these coaches game-plan for the other team's best players regardless of what the injury report says in regards to anything other than OUT.
