P.Holmes seeking second opinion

Post by Gordon Gekko » Thu Nov 18, 2004 4:56 am

Running back Priest Holmes traveled to Florida to get a second opinion on his strained right knee on Wednesday and remains doubtful for Monday night's game against the Patriots.

Doesn't sound good, does it? Enjoy!

GG,
I have no evidence of this, but Im pretty sure he could be looking at an extended stay on the bench based on body language, and the types of things Vermeil is saying. Remember, this is the same guy who contemplated retiring in the offseason, partly because his dad was in Iraq and partly because he was concerned about being able to walk after football.

I ultimately think that his future this year may come down to the outcome of their game Monday night. If the Chiefs lose this week, they drop to 3-7 and are likely done so he may be shut down for the rest of the year if not 100%. If they win, they are 4-6 and conceivably are back in it if they get hot, so then his return means more.

I would start buying up Derrick Blaylock stock like Teldar Paper.

The guy in my main league last week plugged in Duckett for Holmes and didn't miss a beat. So much for missing the No. 1 pick in the draft.

In any league his absence should be significant in my opinion. The guy will be plugging Duckett into his lineup again this week so let's see if he puts up another huge day on Sunday.

Wouldn't it be something if Duckett continued to produce quality numbers as a Holmes replacement? Hmmm, where was Duckett drafted in many leagues by the way? :D

[/QUOTE]Yea but I am sure that they still have an advantage because they have the #1 pick! I'll be looking forward to seeing the "theory" on how they STILL have an advantage Gekko.
