Here's a stat for you...As of week 12, there are 21 tightends in the NFL that have as many, or more Touchdowns than Clinton Portis. In fact out of those 21, 15 of them have 1 or more Touchdowns than Portis.

I think the sharp FF player knew on draft day that Portis going to a new system was a risk. Some people took it, some didn't. Thank God I never had to make that choice.

I knew he would struggle, but not like this! He went 5th in our league over Alexander, James, etc.

I wouldn't have touched him anywhere before 8th (luckily I picked 14th!)

I am a firm believer that 99% of the time talent wins out over circumstance in the NFL. Portis this season is an example of the 1%. That team is awful on offense and it really appears the game has passed Gibbs by.

The "tightend factor" this year is something that I haven't seen in 15 years of fantasy football. 15 Tightends scoring more receiving Touchdowns than Portis. More Td's than Hines Ward, Santana Moss, Jimmy Smith or Laveranues Coles. You can know every NFL player from Peyton Manning to Joe Zelenka and not see a stat like that coming.

You know, Pinchi Brian and I went into the draft thinking that the so-called stricter enforcement of the defensive "5 yard" rule would make a huge change in how fantasy points would be scored this year. Boy were we right! It's just that instead of WR's exploding across the board, (as we thought would happen), it's been the league's TE's that have blown up like never before. In hindsight, I guess it does make sense that LB's and S's would have a tougher time recovering once they've had a move or two put on them past that 5 yard barrier, than say the more nimble, swifter DB's. I guess since we can't get Gates now, we'll just have to be content with Brees tossing it to him. Oh well.
