NY vs Chicago Grudge Match Update

Post by Liquid_Madness » Tue Oct 11, 2005 9:00 am

Through two weeks of competition... essentially the NY drafters are kicking the living crap out of the Chi-towners!!!!

YTD Standings(Top 5 teams from each city):

NY: 1,344.5

Chi: 1,183.25

Oh yes.... that's alreay a 161.25 point difference after two weeks....

anD a NY team posseses 5 out of the top 6 spots in the standings....

If we were to add up the full 7 teams from each draft city... the deficit grows to 211.3 pts for the Chi-towners....

HOW SWEET IT IS!!! HOW SWEET IT IS!!!

C'mon now Snake. Last year when your team clearly had no chance to win, wouldn't it have been nice to be involved in another league?

This league is just a bunch of good guys getting together. My team is AWFUL right now, but the smack talk (receiving it that is) has been a lot of fun.

NY pizza is good, but after tasting Lou Malnati's, I do prefer Chicago better.

However, anyone is entitled their opinion.

I hate to take credit away from anyone, but the NY / Chicago rivalry started last year when we combined cities for the DraftMasters which is now called DraftChampions...So, this is actually year 2.

Funny how I spent the better part of a week of my own time promoting this league, sending countless PM's to potential owners.....now someone not even in the league wants the credit for starting it. ;)

That would be funny if it weren't so sad. I will gladly step aside on this one and let someone else take the back pats. I'm sure I won't notice as I have plenty of friends on these boards. ;)

I wrote that post as I was eating my last bite of CROW for the week, served up piping hot by team NY.

Thank you team NY for my latest ace whoopin. This is becoming all too familiar.."thank you sir, may I have another". Liquid has to be Needermeier. :D

Snake (who backed out) and BillyWazass (sorry Billy ... it still cracks me up :D ) started the trash talking weeks ago with Billy wanting a rematch with Snake because he let Snake out of a $100 dollar side bet last year out of sympathy due to Snakes bad luck (or drafting skills ... I'm still not sure).

Jeff (RC) jumped in and had the whole idea of getting up a league with the message board group including Snake and Billy ... he really was the driving force in getting up this league.

When we realized Snake was from NY ... Jeff and I had the idea of a rematch of NY vs Chicago since it was a ton of fun to draft with/against them. We made fun of you guys and NY almost the whole draft ... but we were drinking then. ;)

The final piece of this puzzle was Marc (Diesel) ... the anchor of NY team and the guy I talked with last year about how much fun the mixed league was ... we even talked about requesting the Draft Champions be a mixed league again this year (back in June).

Marc's participation was really key to this event for me ... because he really brought the NY team together it time to have the event (IMHO).

Marc ... by anchor I mean ... dead weight! :D :D :D :D

I am definately in this next year ... win or lose.
