All this because he can't live on a measly 7 mill a year.

Vegas, I believe there is a "nuisance" clause in T.O.s contract where it says that if he does anything detrimental to the Philadelphia organization, his pay stops. It looks like the ball is in Philly's court. I would bench him at zero pay for the rest of the season. And that's not just because I didn't draft him on any of my fantasy teams this year...lol

Diesel, I beleive the Eagles can only go 4 weeks without paying him. Then they have to pay him even if he is still suspended... Anyone remember the Meyshawn Johnson episode a couple years ago where the Bucs paid him to stay home???

4 Weeks is the limit for suspension without pay...I thought I read somewhere that T.O.'s contract had some more stipulations add in there to make sure he didn't become what he became in SanFran...I probably misread that part...I hope T.O. gets his 4 game suspension without pay. Darren Woodson said today on ESPN that he would love to have T.O. on his team, on Sunday, on GameDay. But if you have to deal with T.O. for the other 6 days of the week, no thanks.

I currently reside in a nice South Jersey suburb, but I'm from Philly, guys...and let me tell you this. T.O. is the most "talented" WR in the game, without question. Unfortunately he has the mental capacity of a spoiled child. His idiotic agent has dropped the ball big time on the whole situation. If the Eagles retain him for next season -- a literal impossibility now -- he would earn in the ballpark of $9 million or so. Now, do you think he should have kept his big mouth shut from Day One? If there is any team willing to sign him next year for that kind of money, and I can't think of anyone who would (maybe Al Davis?) , well then they deserve what will come to them. As for trying to shut him down for the remainder of THIS season without pay, the NLFPA wouldn't allow that to happen, even to a pompous ass like "J".O.

Maybe his original salary wasn't enough to justify setting his sprinkler system on his lawn of his $4 million dollar home in what is a beautiful neighborhood that we live in...or maybe brown grass is all the rage in his home-town Mississippi. Thankfully for his neighbors, the house is for sale. We'll gladly drive him to the airport come January. ;)

Watching "Football Friday" on ESPN News last night I heard Merril Hoge, (the last white RB!) state "Talking to D coordinators and head coaches around the league, T.O. is their 3rd concern on the Eagles."

According to his interaction with the coaches they worry about Westbrook 1st, Donovan 2nd, and THEN T.O.

Just curious, if he was the most talented, without question, wouldn't they be concerned with him 1st?

I don't doubt his talent, just don't think he is the most talented in the league.

And BTW, are any of you fellow Westbrook owners ESTATIC about this situation or what?

I know I am!

You need to understand that Hoge hates ALL Eagles, specifically T.O.(easy target anyway). I agree that Westbrook is who you need to game plan for, but Owens is a major reason for that rationale. Hoge is full of it. He's a RB fanatic and couldn't play a lick. He picked Philly to go 6-10 last season, AND never GOT AROUND TO ADMITTING his idiotic prediction...need I say more? God Loves All but Hoggie is a hater. Good luck buddy...you seem like a good person.

[/QUOTE]Not to start an argument or anything, but do you realize that the attention - or lack thereof in you and Merrill's eyes - given to T.O. will now be shifted to Westbrook? Trust me, I hope you're right as I have West 36 in two leagues. He's a wonderful talent, but McNabb is not right and Westbrook will need to do much of it on his own. Good luck.

Maybe his original salary wasn't enough to justify setting his sprinkler system on his lawn of his $4 million dollar home in what is a beautiful neighborhood that we live in..Obviously this neighborhood is nowhere near Philly as "beautiful" and "Philly" don't go in the same sentence. Why do you think Al lives in South Jersey? He's no dummy.

or maybe brown grass is all the rage in his home-town Mississippi. Now, now, Al, for someone who hasn't been south of the Mason-Dixon line this is a shallow statement and at the very least an ethnic slur to us southern folk. Just stirring up the pot a little, Al, as you and I have been on the same side lately. :D
