Draft Champions SUPER_Satellite

Post by Gordon Gekko » Tue Jul 25, 2006 8:01 am

I recieved the official word from Greg to move forward with this. There will be no official "Gekko III" this year. I (and others) are in too many league already that require daily/weekly maintenance. But, I have room for more Draft Champion leagues, and I also have an appetite for turning a small entry fee into a large prize.

Here's the details so far:
Draft Date/Time = Tuesday, Sept 5th at 7pm EST

Entry Fee = $250/team

Teams = 28 in one league (after the drafts)

Play format = Draft Champions

Draft = Two drafts would be held simultaneously on mockdraftcentral. Each draft would be comprised of 14 teams. After the drafts were over, all 28 teams would be put in the same league! WOOOHOOO!! Super Satellite time!!

Draft Slots = Determined by bidding some of your team's future points. If you are successful in securing a draft slot by bidding points, those points will be deducted from your team’s total at the start of the season. Obviously some teams will start out with negative points.

This is how it would work; everyone would submit their bids to Greg via e-mail. (Only one e-mail to Greg per owner please). Greg will evaluate all of the bids he receives. For example, suppose the highest bid out of all 28 owners was 55 points. That owner would receive that draft slot and their season point total would begin at minus 55 (-55), instead of 0. Greg would remove that owner from future draft slot consideration. Greg would continue the evaluations by determining which owner bid the next highest amount (let’s say 50 points). That owner would receive that draft slot and their season point total would begin at minus 50 (-50), instead of 0. Greg continues the evaluation until all draft slots are awarded or there are no more bids to evaluate. Owners not bidding on a draft slot will receive a random draft slot from the remaining draft slots. Those teams will begin the season with 0 points (as they normally would).

PRIZES =
Based on 28 teams and a $250 entry fee…
prize pool would be $28 x $250 = $7,000 x 90% = $6,300
1st place = $3,600 (throwing up $250 to win $3,600 is sweet!)
2nd place = $1,700
3rd place = $1,000

Please post if you'd like to sign-up or have any questions. Obviously we are limited to the first 28 folks. I'll start a post with the signups. Thanks.

Please post in this thread if you are 100% certain you want in the league. thanks.

You can put me on the 100% list if this draft is held after the main event. Otherwise I will need to consult my magic 8-ball.
