Patriot's '08 Schedule

Post by RiFF » Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:31 am

I know how the NFL sets its schedule, but there seems to be a needed adjustment when a team goes 16-0 during the regular season one year and then gets the easiest schedule of opponents, the following year, based on the previous year's win/loss results. This has to have Shula, Mercury Morris, et al spitting up there champagne.

I agree with the Shula comments, Riff, but it's not the Patriots' fault they play in a bad division. But beware, free agency has been known to turn teams' fortunes around quickly and with Mangini and now Parcells in this division, look for this division to quickly become competitive.

Rick, remove quickly and I'm with you. Unless quickly is defined as 3 or 4 years. I don't believe the Pats will lose any of their 6 division games this year and probably will win at least 14 of the 16.

Colts schedule is a monster. Steelers schedule is just silly.

Colts have 2nd toughest schedule on paper and have to settle for a week 4 BYE. What crap is that?!
2008- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic.
2009- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic or Primetime.

How does a team that goes 16-0 get the easiest schedule?

For once the Raiders didn't get totally screwed they get the 3rd easiest ! usually they have top 5 hardest. Hope all the money Al spent comes to fruition for a decent team this year, it's been tough to watch!
