I'm #2 in the Jungle contest for now, not $100k on the line in that one, but $20k isnt bad.

Free agent bids end on Friday at 4 p.m. EST and then start again on Tuesday morning. Sorry if you missed it. But there are no free agent pickups after Friday afternoon.

So who else started Mewelde Moore? I gave him a huge bump in our online rankings on Saturday because I knew he was going to start and I thought he had very nice upside against the Saints.

Hope everyone who needed him started him.

As far as this season goes, the injury bug that blasts me in the Guru League every year has continued. In past years I've seen key guys like Michael Bennett and Boldin suffer major injuries and Shannon Sharpe retire two days after our draft. This year, I've already lost three guys for the season (Walker, Eric Johnson and Shelton) and Staley hasn't played (I'm actually trying to remember why in the hell I drafted that guy since I wasn't very high on him -- I think I was drunk or something :D ). I'm starting Mewelde Moore as my RB2 this week because Portis is on a bye and I have no RB depth really after Deuce and Portis.

Tom, looks like you will need a gem or two from late in your draft to help out again this year. It's always scary drafting those players coming off an injury or who are injury prone. I have a team full of those guys....
Vick, McNair, S.Davis, J.Jones, Westbrook, Stallworth, S.Smith, Shockey and after yesterday's game, I guess you can add the Pats D!
I just hope you didn't draft Freddie Jones this year as he would've pulled a Shannon Sharpe on you. ;)
I also about drafted Shelton, was getting ready to pick him and a team snagged him before I could. Was pleasantly surprised for my team when I arrived home after the draft and saw he was placed on IR.
I wish I was a Mewelde Moore owner as it was inevitable that Bennett would get injured or benched sometime this year. That's one of the reasons I drafted Fason in our draft.
I don't know if you caught any of the game, but Moore ran SOOOOO much better than Bennett has this season. That whole RB situation is a mess though. I just hope I can use Fason for a couple big games this year.
I am curious since we are talking about the Vikes...how many people actually started Troy Williamson this week? I was kinda forced to...had A.Johnson on a bye AND the team I was playing this week told me they really wanted Williamson at the draft, so I was hoping to rub it in a little by him catching a long one for a TD. Voila, 1 rec 53 yds TD. Though I never thought I would get 17 pts out of him. Could this be a sign of things to come?
Well I wish you well in all your leagues. By the way, in my opinion, Moore will probably end up being a better start than Portis most weeks if he is starting!

I'm not so sure about Moore being better than Portis but as long as Moore stays healthy he'll give me a solid trio of RBs in the Guru League (McAllister, Portis and Moore). That's important because my WRs are really going to be hit or miss with Walker gone. I have Travis Taylor and he's done well so far and I grabbed Ernie Conwell off the Waiver Wire and started him ahead of Courtney Anderson at TE (a wash there). If I can keep my RBs healthy and productive I think I'll have a shot in that league. I'm up by 38 points going into tonight and he has Priest and LJ and I have Rod Smith. We'll see what happens.

Speaking of Wiliamson, here's part of the lineup a guy in my main league started this week. As an FYI we award 12 points for 50-yard or longer TDs. He had:

McNabb
LT
Westbrook
Thomas Jones
Holt
Ward
Lloyd
Williamson

Ward, Lloyd and Williamson all had 50-yard plus TDs and everyone else went absolutely gonzo as well. He set a league record for most points in a week. I have the second-highest point total this week and didn't come anywhere near him. Simply unbelievable.
