Greg, could you let me know the states which prohibit this game. I may be finished here in South Carolina in June and the info you give me will help me pick my next location.

Well, the states don't prohibit anyone playing high-stakes fantasy football. We have chosen to take the advice of a very good law firm that has told us that five states in particular have gambling language that could be interpreted that this game is gambling, not a game of skill. In these five states -- Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana and Vermont -- the law is written where an aggressive state attorney general could conceivably interpret our game differently. So we've chosen to not take residents from those five states to avoid any possible problem.
Now I'm only aware of one other contest that does this -- the WCOFF -- so I think we're both just protecting ourselves and possibly turning away business at the same time. Your co-manager can be from any state if that helps. Rick, in your line of work, I'm sure you have residency in more than one state.
Call or e-mail me if you need more information on this.

I'll be ok. The proposed jobsites are in South Carolina, Arkansas, Nebraska, or Maryland. Of the 5 outlaw states, my company bids work in only Arizona and Louisiana. However, as you have guessed, I have several outlets should I end up in one of these 5 states.

Funny that Louisana looks at it as "gambling" considering that they have a city (New Orleans) that commits more sins on a Tuesday than the average state does in a year!

Go easy, BillyWaz. I've committed my fair share of those sins having ridden on floats in Mardi Gras 19 of the last 21 years. I could write a book that would put "Desperate Housewives" to shame!

Not ragging on New Orleans at all Tamu! I friggin love that place. My wife (GF at the time) and I went down 3 years ago to watch the Saints play the Steelers. Have gone back the last 2 years to see games (Atlanta last year, and Minnesota this year).
We always spend WAY too much time at Harrah's (this past year was profitable), and the booze (Dixie beer is AWESOME!), atmosphere, and especially the food CAN'T be beat.
Damn, I would give my left nut for a Po-boy and some crawfish right now!

I'm not much on crawfish but I always eat way too many shrimp po-boys, my favorite lunch food. Next time you get down there though you need to try an Italian restaurant called Venezia's in uptown New Orleans. Corner of Canal and Carrolton. The veal just melts in your mouth.
I'm with you, though. With the Saints D starting to play like they know what they're doing, a couple of W's would sure be sweet.
