Question about Chi-Town Marriot

I just reserved the rooms at the Oakbrook Marriot for Friday and Saturday, and the woman told me that the rate was only good (which was $89+tax and not $79) for Friday night and not Saturday night (that rate was $99+tax)
I didn't know if this was a mix-up or not?
Also, the Draft Champions is starting at 11:00 A.M and the auction at 4:00 on Friday? Why is that so much earlier than New York? Just curious?

Let me look into the Chicago room rates to see what we have for NFFC members. Keep your room at those rates and I'll see if we can get something lower for you.
We're looking over our times again in Chicago. My goal was to make sure we had enough time inbetween the two events as several guys will do both again, but you're right that 11 a.m. may be a bit too early. Let me update that soon.
See you in Chicago.

See you in Chicago. I actually booked my flight and reservations at a different hotel (within 3 minutes of the Marriot) because I got a nice "package deal".
I appreciate you looking into this, and the time of the Draft Masters and Auction on Friday. My flight is scheduled to arrive at 7:15 Friday morning, so I should have enough time to get to the Draft Masters on time, but putting faith in a flight and the airport can sometimes be a risky proposition.
Thanks again for running a first class event!

The pleasure is all ours. I see you're lurking on the NFBC boards, so maybe we'll get you talked into the baseball contest some day!!! Anyway, we'll take care of you in Chicago and finalize that Friday schedule very soon.

Anyway, we'll take care of you in Chicago and finalize that Friday schedule very soon. The last time I played fantasy baseball was 1994? (It was the year they went on strike). After that, I have stuck strictly with football. It was funny, because when I got your magazines, I honestly had NO CLUE who 3 or 4 of the first round guys were! That, along with the fact that the wife may ask for a divorce if I did baseball, are two good reasons why I have a better chance at winning the lottery than signing up for baseball. Although when I saw that it was March 18-19, I was a bit intrigued because I know you guys run a first class event.
The reason I was "lurking" on the baseball site was I was curious to see some of the teams that Jersey Paul and Gekko (to name a few) put together (not that I would know have the names of the players, but I was just curious!) Anywhere I can do that?

Yeah, 1994 was the last year that more people played fantasy baseball than fantasy football. The strike of 1994 was a tough one for fantasy baseball because they lost people from '94 (the season ended on Aug. 11) and they lost people in '95 (the 232 day strike didn't end until mid April. Football zoomed past in popularity in 1994 and it has never looked back.
I can't give you access to the NFBC game site, but shoot me an e-mail and maybe I can show you JP's and GG's teams. Trust me, if either one of those guys are leading the overall standings, you'll know about it just by going to the Message Boards!

I really don't need to check them out that bad, I was just on "spring break" this week, and had some extra time. Like you said, I'm sure Gekko and JP will be busy enough on the boards that I can figure out where they are.
Thanks anyhow!

Greg,
Did you get a chance to look into the room rates for the Chicago Marriott? They still are saying that the NFBC promo rate is only good friday, not Saturday, and that its not $79 but $89. For Saturday night, the cheapest rate they have is $109.
Thanks.

Yes, we called yesterday and our contact was out until today. Jean is looking into this and we'll get it right. I swear, working with hotels makes a guy want to drink.
Look for an update here and via e-mail soon....I hope.

Greg, yes our contract states that the rooms for Friday are $89. You need to have us secure a room for you on Saturday, which I think is $109. Just shoot me an e-mail at
[email protected] if you want the Saturday stay and I'll take care of it. Our code for Friday is National Fantasy Football Championships. Thanks.
