Question-I'm sure it's been asked, but then again....... ;)

If the winner of each league is based on Best Record.

Why wouldn't H2H be tie breaker number 1?

Seems to me that there is a value of $2,500.00 being placed upon the best record.

So even if two teams are tied record wise they have played each other 1 time and have a result. Meaning one was better H2H against the other. Thus giving them the League Championship.

Just curious.

We also want to reward the teams that are scoring the most points because, in addition to H2H results, that is another strong factor in determining which teams are the best ones in each league as well as our overall event.

Hope this answers your question.

If three teams end up at 11-2 with nobody having the edge head to head , who would win division ?

Most points. IMHO

Thanks Tom. But I think if best record is rewarded the most $, the way to get the best record or tie for it is to beat your opposition.

From our Rules Section on the main page of the Web site:

15. Tie-breaker procedures. If after 13 regular season games, teams are tied for first place, second place or third place, the following tiebreakers will be used in this order:

Total points through 13 weeks
Head-to-head won/lost record (if three or more teams, it's cumulative wins against those common opponents)
Highest point total from Week 13
Highest point total from Week 12
Highest point total from Week 11
Coin toss
This procedure is for determining the head-to-head champion and the league total points leader.

In the post-season, should any teams finish in a tie for prize money, the money would be split among those teams. In the unlikely event that teams are tied with the exact same point total during the playoffs for the NFFC title, the prize money for first and second place would be added together and split evenly. The same is true if teams tied for third place or fourth place or any of the other money spots, including the consolation round.

Seems like 1 and 2 should be reversed. More $ goes to the team with the best record in all other leagues.

Those are the rules.

I think that Lou is saying that your system rewards the team with the best record more than the team with the highest points so your tie breakers should follow that same principle.

1. First Place or "Best Record" gets $5000

2. Second Place or "Most Points..." gets $2500

By paying out more to the team with the best record, you are saying that H2H is more important than Total Points, yet you tiebreakers contradict that.

I would think that the principle should be constant all the way thru the process. (something to consider for the future?)

We're always willing to look at things going forward but those are the rules as I said.

I think TCH and 3INTBOY have made an excellent case for what GG and I have been pushing for which is the $5K should go to the team with the most points as that is the team that managed his team best for 13 weeks through all of the bye weeks vs. the team that got lucky because of the schedule. Let them both go to the big dance, but pay the point leader the dough.
