Who is the better team????

QUESTION #1

Team A who has 1449 points and a 9-1 record

OR

Team B who has 1285 points and a 8-2 record, BUT defeated Team A earlier in the season.

QUESTION #2

If the 2 teams were to face off in the playoffs (in a head to head league of course) and Team B defeats Team A, does that make Team B....

1) The TRULY better team

OR

2) Just lucky to be in the "right place at the right time" with a favorable schedule

A vote and expanation (not needed) is appreciated!

Thanks!!!!

QUESTION #2
The TRULY better team (since they best them twice in "head to head")

Total points is THE barometer of team strength and won/loss record is meaningless. Too much luck involved with record. IMO

Snake,

I'm not sure Gekko totally understood the situation, as I KNOW he is a believer in total points being better.

Only the "sub par" players rely on "head to head" as a true barometer, as they generally NEED that in order to "have a shot".

Besides, the title of this post is "CALLING ALL THE EXPERTS". Since you have never won anything in the NFFC and are currently in 314th place in the Main, you reply on THIS post is not relevant.

Now get your last word in, as I am not starting a feud on this thread (surely you read what Tom posted yesterday???)

Billy - I had this exact situation in the WCOFF two years ago when 3INTBOY was in my league and after 11 weeks he was 10-1 with the highest score in the entire event.

The only team that beat him in his league during the regular season played him again in the LCG - your guess as to who won!

So he may have had more total points and had the better record in our league, but I got the $$ for being League Champion - and had the better team when it counted (and come on - that's really all any of us care about at that point)

Definition of Expert in my book: Anyone who pays 1350 to play FF is an Expert.

i understood the question exactly as intended. it all depends which system you use for the playoffs (3 week points sprint or H2H). IF THERE IS A H2H PLAYOFF SYSTEM, that system will decide the better team.

P.S....there are ALOT of successful FF owners in the NFFC that are NOT doing too well this year - (Thompson, Pope, Zaleski, Clift, etc., etc1) Finishing 3rd in your league ($500) is LOSING $$ Snake (simple math really.... $500-$1,250 =
-$750)

2) The difference is they have MADE $$ in this event, and many of them did it TWO out of THREE years. Gekko has been poor the last 2 years, but he did win the "whole enchilada" which does give him some leverage (since I know that was your next response).

Your last year's performance is clearly a fluke. As you were dismal in 2004, and worse in 2006.
