Auction League playoff question...

Auction league playoff teams include the top scorer and the best head to head record. Then the next 2 highest scoring teams. Finally, the next 2 teams with the most wins get in .
My question is this...
The Auction's homepage standings have each tied team ranked according to their points. Is this how the teams with ties will be awarded a playoff spot? Or does Head to Head record come into account before points?
example:If there are 2 teams with a 7-6 record fighting for the last spot in the playoffs, does the team that has more points make it into the playoffs? Or does the team that won during the season in their head to head game make it in?
Thanks.

Thanks. Hey Marc, I know this affects both of us, so here's how it works:
#1 seed is the team with the best H2H record (points is the tie-breaker)
#2 seed is the remaining team with the most points
#3 seed is the remaining team with the most points
#4 seed is the remaining team with the most points
#5 seed is the remaining team with the best H2H record (tiebreaker is points)
#6 seed is the remaining team with the best H2H record (tiebreaker is points)
The key word here is "remaining" -- once a team has been seeded they are locked into that position. H2H between teams is meaningless as a tiebreaker.
Thus, if the season had ended after 12 weeks, you would be the 4th seed.
Hope that clears it up -- PM me if you have any additional questions.

The more I look at it, the more I disagree with the process. If 3 teams are decided by Wins and Losses, shouldn't it go down to individual Head to Head matchups before points if they are tied in the standings?
The whole point of allowing 3 teams to get in by W/L records, is WINS and LOSSES. Not points. I understand that the league standings go strictly by Wins/Losses, and then points, but that should be over-rided when choosing which 3 teams get into the playoffs.
I'm not judging this rule by my own position, because my team will benefit from the way the rules are now, because my team is on the upper end of the points scored.

Marc, is the greatest measure of the stronger and more worthy playoff team the one that won during that head-to-head matchup -- which may have occurred when one of the teams was hurt by the bye week -- or by the total points during the 13-week regular season? So many times people say I put too much emphasis on head to head and now here you're saying the first tie-breaker shouldn't be total points. I can't win.
Again, the reasoning behind this is that one team may have caught another team at a rough juncture of the bye schedule and thus that one loss is weighted too heavily. The truer sign of the strongest overall team would be the total points over 13 weeks. Just my reasoning for why I set it up that way as the first tie-breaker in the auction leagues and Ultimate League.

Greg, I thought the playoff format was GREAT. I started the season 2-6 in the auction league, and wound up winning my last 5 games. Had a couple of the 7-6 teams lost their games this week and a wound up 6-7, I'd be in the playoffs despite the 2nd lowest point total in the league.
Bottom line is that the game is only fun if you still have a chance to win. The H2H/pts/pts/pts/H2H/H2H format lets almost every team stay in the race until the very end.

Greg, you should know me by now. When I bring up topics, it's for discussion. Not rule changes. Don't think I'm using this as a platform to change the rule and that this will turn into a 32 page debate thread...lol
I'm looking at it like this...
While picking the teams that make it into the playoffs using *points* for this event, you over-ride the head to head records...So I thought, while picking the teams that make it into the playoffs using *head to head* records, you'd over-ride the points scored.
*Team A scores 1500 points, finishes 7-6.
*Team B scores 1499 points, finishes 7-6, but beat Team A during the regular season.
If the teams are being selected soley by their head to head records, is it so outlandish for me to wonder why Team B wouldn't make it instead of Team A?
I agree that points scored is the best determining factor. And again, this format is helping me get into my second consecutive Auction playoff run. I'm just voicing my unbiased opinion here.
Too many times, you see people voicing their displeasure with a rule because of how it's affecting them. This isn't the case here. I'm just pointing out something here that I thought would be a valid question.

*Team A scores 1500 points, finishes 7-6.
*Team B scores 1300 points, finishes 7-6, but beat Team A during the regular season in Week 3 when Tomlinson and Gates (both on Team A) had their bye.
Would it still be fair if Team B made the playoffs? That's the problem with one specific H2H matchup dictating the playoffs -- teams play at different strength from week-to-week. Bye weeks would play way to big a role, IMO anyway.
To me, points are a better indicator of overall team strength, while overall H2H record shows balance...and of course luck.
Now go kick some ass in the playoffs. If you win, that HD-LCD comes courtesy of Krause.

LOL
So what you're saying is, if Team A just shuts up, then Team B can go play for the big bucks in the playoffs without worrying about all of these hypotheticals...
