C'mon guys...ANSWER THIS!!

Post by GOD Loves You » Mon Oct 20, 2008 3:57 pm

I'm involved in a wannabe expert league....basically with a bunch of guys who have websites, claiming to be experts. A few of them could be labeled so, but all in all, they know html code.

Anyways, the commish changed the league settings after the draft. He changed the playoff teams from 6 to 8 teams and also added an IR spot. This IR spot enabled PUP players, "questionable" players, and players ruled as "out" to be rostered without eating up a bench spot...sorta like a DL slot.

What does everybody think of this? How would you feel about league settings being changed AFTER the draft?

I've played with some local guys who would do something to rectify the situation. It's a free league, but I let the commish know that if it were a local league, it would merit a beatdown!

Please answer so I can let this commish know "what's up".

Thanks.

Get out, and tell him that you don't EVER change rules once the games have started.

Unacceptable.Once the rules have been set and you draft,no changes till next year.I'd ask for a REFUND and call it a day.

Had this happen in a league where I had won two years in a row and a rule was changed the week I was playing the commish allowing him to get a prized free agent based on waiver processes. I raise so much hell they kicked me out of the league and gave me my money back. It was so blatant it was sad. The ironic thing is just a week earlier I had started thread to ask about adjusting a rule that I felt was unfair and they squashed the thread saying the offseason was the time to talk and change rules, that we don't do that mid-season. It was quite the disaster for them as 4 other guys left the league.

Worse than collusion! No quicker way to destroy a league.
2008- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic.
2009- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic or Primetime.

I personally think those are the greatest changes ever! This guy should be commish of the year. How can some of you not see how much fun it is to change the rules after the event has started? How predictable is it to join a league, read the rules, do your draft.. and then later be forced to play by the rules you originally read?

I think this was a great idea... It keeps things fresh!

ps. I am changing a rule in my league that all TD's scored by Matt Forte are 10 points.
