Question: With no true LT2 type dominant player in the league the past couple years, will 3RR be in order next year and is it warranted?

Curious to hear opinions.

Are there any teams doing well that drafted from the #1 slot?

Old School,

The top teams are completely balanced this year. They have drafted from all of the spots. It's amazing how well it has worked.

The beauty of 3RR.

If you think it's needed ... it makes a difference by helping latter picks.

If you think it's unnecessary ... it doesn't doesn't hurt early picks because it is perceived as a non factor.

With it ... 1/2 are happier and 1/2 don't care.

Without it ... 1/2 are unhappy and 1/2 don't care.

Why would anyone get rid of it?

Perfect UYT.

In spite of the top tiers potentially shifting around from year-to-year, there still will be many teams that believe getting their top projected player is critically important, whether it be for that player's potential upside, low perceived risk or just how it sets up the rest of their draft.

Accordingly, I think many teams still will prefer a top draft pick even after a season in which perhaps no short list of players rises clearly above the rest. So I think 3RR in combination with KDS will always be a good thing that adds not only to the fairness of the draft but also to the strategy.

As Greg knows I like it, joined NFFC because of it. Got picks 1.7 in both NFFC and NBC, so I also like KDS. A little know fact, I let my wife pick the KDS order since, I messed that up so badly last year. ;)

3rr makes the draft process the same for all.

The top picks simply can't script their draft beforehand like they use to do without 3rr.

THAT'S the advantage top picks use to have. When owners have to make a tough choice at the end of round 2, mistakes are going to be made and can't be corrected by a quick round 3 pick.

The main reason bottom picks are doing better this year, except for TE, is there is a lot of parity so far at all the other positions. Witten is the only guy really standing out at his position. This is also why the league races are a little tighter this year. Way more 4-3/3-4 teams this year than in the past.

KDS is an absolute good thing no doubt. I'm not so sold on the 3RR though. It looks like most like it too from what I read..
