Just curious, for those who wish to share, about Wk 3 waiver action:

1) What were other bids for Stecker? We weren't going to go 'all in', so I came up with a goofy formula that resulted in 232. Knew we wouldn't get him, but thought there was a shot everyone else would think the same thing and under bid.

2) Given that Carter went for 232 (interesting that we got the same number for Stecker - maybe that formula wasn't so goofy...), I was surprised to get Robertson for 103 - any other bidders?

I put in $61 on Stecker and $61 on Ki Jana Carter. The formula was completely random, but I must have been thinking Roger Maris.

I didn't have any interest in Jamal Robertson or Griffith and didn't even bid on them. I don't understand how Griffith, Atlanta's fullback, is going to get PT ahead of Dunn (probable this week) and Duckett, let alone Vick. That's 3 runners clearly better than him?

As far as Jamal Robertson, he had a decent little piece of running late in last week's game when Barlow was out... but also tossed in a fumble just to make sure the coaches knew they couldn't trust him. Barlow appears healthy and the clear starter... don't see what makes Robertson any more valuable than most any #2 RB in the league?

That's just my opinion - I could so easily be wrong ;)

My co-manager from New Orleans selected Stecker in our auction league and I thought he was smoking rope......guess he had some hometown knowledge

Hey Dave,

You're right, the waiver wire is pretty thin but even thinner in our auction league where we took 280 players off the board!!!

I don't think we get any real value for anything on the wire except for maybe the K and D positions.

This bidding thing is just crazy for some people, but maybe they are right bidding hundreds to get one player to help them.....that might be the right formula!!

We bid 250 on Stecker and 50 on Carter. I also live in New Orleans. I must admit that I am not a huge Saints fan. Thank God!!

Dyv [/QB]Unfortunately in LV4 the pickings are pretty thin - if not mistaken there where #3's going on draft day. With Barlow nursing some ailments since pre-season, JR seemd like the best of a steaming pile of bad crap shots.

Of course it gets worse - how about sitting through Manning's performance knowing it would make no difference in the outcome of our game...
(although the dude who bid 700 for Blalock couldn't have felt too good, either.)

...and I haven't done the math but I believe taking Johnson over Lewis turned a 3-0 start into 1-2. THAT mistake will NEVER happen again.
