GEKKO Invitational 2005-2006

Post by Gordon Gekko » Mon Jul 11, 2005 11:21 am

Details for the Gekko Invite will be sent out once I talk with Greg (hopefully by this weekend). I'll need owner "commitments" within a week of sending. If you don't agree with everything or think you have no chance against me this year, get out now. it's the gekko way or no way. once i find out who's in and who's out, i'll go to the 2nd string. needless to say gentlemen, the stakes are going up this year.

i'll post a recap of last year's results this weekend.

thanks.

Stakes are up? How about a $5000 entry, winner takes all?

I'm in regardless. Do we have a date set?

Also, how many of the top-10 teams from last year will be participating?

last year was $100. this year i'm looking to at least double it. more after i talk with greg.

date will be that tuesday or wednesday after the NFFC weekend.

how many from the top 10? might diminish ROI

How are you going to screen the entrants? Some of the teams last year left much to be desired.

Then again, that could certainly be viewed as a good thing...

i was thinking about making it an auction league, thereby removing the bias of a straight draft. i'd like to see how http://www.fantasyauctioneer.com handles the mid-season baseball leage before commenting further

Hey Geeko. Congrats on winning the whole enchalada last year, and also for winning NNOY's handicapping contest (although your final week (or is it "weak") picks were a corny gesture). I hope that you spent your winnings on booze, women and gambling instead of just wasting it. Good luck this year.

[/QUOTE]What does that mean??? Was there a stiff job on NNOY's end? I'm sure that Tom and Greg paid up on their's.

Richie, it definitely wasn't us. Gordon got his money from us on time, all $100,000+. He patiently waited for his money from Nathan and then called him out on the boards here, but did receive payment in full, albeit in March or April. All is good for now there.
