Aug. 21st NFFC Satellite Auction League

Just a thought, if all were interested...the draft should be completed relatively early in the night, we could all hop on the MB's directly after and start a thread to complete the draft.

Figure out an order and then quickly make our picks, wouldn't take to long if everyone had a game plan.

Thoughts?

Keep discussing it guys but let's make a decision before Monday. George's estimate for an 18-player auction online is 41/2 hours. That sounds about right to me although I think 5 is very possible as well. So adding another 6 players could take about another hour at the very least.

If you want to do it here on the boards, we can simply create a thread and you guys can all post in it. I'll keep everyone's names and who they pick for the reserve roster and e-mail it to STATS first thing Tuesday morning. How does that sound?

Thoughts? This sounds like a good approach to me. A random draft order has to be established to run the auction to nominate players. So after the 18 Auction rounds are completed, whoever is in slot 1 can start a thread on this MB immediately after the auction part is completed to then start round 19. And after that person chooses a player slot 2 can choose a player and so on so forth through the remaining 8 rounds.
It will obviously be important for each participant to ensure they do NOT choose a player already taken during this process. Also call out the draft position for each player chosen. For instance the 8th slot in round 19 would put team name, draft position and player.

Team XYZ- 19.08- San Diego DEF.

Does this work for everyone?

I would suggest creating the thread in the League Forum area. We can discuss all that on Monday if that's the way you guys want to go.

I still vote we tough it out and auction all 364 players (how great is that). When we all run out of money ... things WILL go faster at the end.

I really don't want the last 8 rounds on the MB for all to see so I don't like that. But thats just me.

As an alternative ... Give everyone $208 ... We could agree to allow everyone to pickup 18 players in the auction before anyone gets their 19th player and only spending a max of $200 ... then don't allow over bidding on players for the next 8 rounds regardless if someone saved more than 8 dollars or not (there by creating a surpentine draft for the last 8 rounds ... assuming players are put up for bid in surpentine order). This is better than the MB or email Idea IMO.

Mike, I think you can bank on a good 4 hours for a "live" football auction. Doing it online where there can be glitches here and there adds another 30 minutes minimum. I think that's being conservative based on the auctions I've either been in or monitored. I would honestly prepare for a 5-hour auction on Monday for 18 players. If you guys really move through it, you can be done in 41/2.
