Tie-breakers for Next Year League Champions

I think that the tie-breaker for the league winners should be head-to-head, not total points. The league champion should be based on record, and head to head is the most logical extension of that for tie-breaking purposes. The second spot is based on points, and for spot #2 points should rule the roost.

Sorry ICo, won't work when multiple teams (more than 2) have identical records. Total points make the most sense. It's also a better indicator of the best team, although H2H definately makes it more fun during the regular season.

Why wouldn't it work -- you do best record in games amongst all the tied teams? Just like how they do it in the NFL.

Quick example

3 teams finish 10-3. Call them teams A,B and C.
Regular season: A beats B, B beats C, C beats A.
All are 1-1 vs. each other. Tie breaker - total pts.

Much easier to blanket coverage each league with total pts. tie breaker. Simplicity

Your example is right, but there just as easily could have been a 2-0 team. I would use that method as the first tie-breaker, and go to total points after that.

But I am the bitter owner of a team that has a decent chance of tieing for best record, but is many points behind.

PS -- this has been way to civil a discussion, so, you stink!

Total points is a MUCH better indicator than record, as you guys have caught break after break.

You guys are more like a 5-5 team than 7-3, and you know it! Hot Sauce, JFT, Jersey Paul, Honolulu Hammers & Buffalo Ravens WITHOUT A DOUBT have a better team than you, and they have the points to prove it!

If you would somehow get best record in our league, it would be the biggest travesty in the history of fantasy sports!

I missed this when you first put it up. You really are a little O/C with this. I clearly acknowledged that my team is way behind in total points.

If you don't like the current rules, try to get them changed for next year.

Althought that's what I did in this thread and you seemed to have a problem with it.

Also, look through the other league standings -- there is a 7-3 team that barely has 1000 points and in our league Organic is 6-4 with less than 1100 points.

People with crappy teams are always trying to figure out how the rules could be changed to allow them to slide into the playoffs. How about this, draft a good team and then you dont have to worm your way in.
