Boston Classic League Draft Spots
That's cool Blackhand that you suggested the better approach, and that you want your individual league race fair, very true, but frankly, pardon the pun, that's small potatoes to tainting all of the other leagues with a 13 and half team league. That's where the focus should be so I found it quite fittingly selfish and amusing to hear owners whine on top of getting this tremendous gift.

Guys, I haven't read this whole thread or even talked with Seth or Todd yet, but I will state that Erick knew what he had to do yesterday to get into this draft and I'm not sure why he didn't show up. I am in a WCOFF big money auction with him next weekend and will certainly talk with him then and before then. His team was paid for, he was ready to draft and he was excited to be in the NFFC. He will run that team from here and I hope he knows that.
I was not contacted during yesterday's draft about this and I wish I had been. We did have people who signed up after we were full and we could have easily replaced him. That's the unfortunate part. But I'm sure Seth and Todd felt that at some point Erick would call in and we'd be good to go. But there comes a point of no return where certainly I would have interacted.
That being said, this team is paid for, it will be run by that owner and away we go. I wish it hadn't happened, but this team is not going abandoned and someone has to be responsible for not calling in and making sure he was actually making every pick.
Good luck to all and this Boston league is still as tough as any league in the NFFC and will continue to be during the season. now i am really pissed. todd told us that he talked to you and thats the way you wanted it to go. others will tell you same thing.

I feel really bad that your suggestion was ignored, because that could have been a memorable moment in your life. Especially if after then you went on to win the overall anyway? That would be the story to top all stories. Sorry man.

You demand that the draft is halted and a phone call goes straight to the top. I'm sure everyone was ultra focused on their next pick and perhaps not paying attention, but that was the most correct play in that situation. It would have been.

Good luck to all and this Boston league is still as tough as any league in the NFFC and will continue to be during the season. Then something is terrible wrong here Greg. I know I at least FIVE times said get GREG on the phone now because this is BS what is going on and i want to make sure he knows this is taking place. I was told you could not be reached or it was all taken care of, again i asked this five different times of the two guys running the league. the owners to my left..Frank M was quite concerned about what was happening and we were trying to figure out what was best to do. So i had said many times..phone Greg he would know what to do or how to get in touch with the missing owner.
So now i am really upset as something is not right here. This is our first venture into the NFFC and i thought we were playing by the rules in place? Now i am facing all kinds of criticism because i want to move forward after trying to make things right at the draft and thinking we were playing by rules in place. I even said that to Frank at the time, "Are we not playing by listed rules in place Frank" Of course i figured it was being done by rules for a missing team owner. But i did say get Greg in the phone, in fact I thought of calling you myself a few times but did no want to step out of bounds and rock the boat. I could see the two guys running the draft were discussing things with some NFFC vets and just figured it was being done right as best as possible given the circumstances. I will also say my partner even said, why don't i take the tam and draft it and both him and I have teams in the league? He was willing to do that and pay for the team. But it never came near close to that being a possibility and nothing came of it.
I really just hope we were playing by the rules and you guys crapping on me please understand that's what i thought was happening. Of course i knew then the advantage for the other 13 owners but i tried to have Greg contacted but again nothing came about the effort so i just went with the flow of the others. I felt at the time that he drafters around that missing team had a good advantage since 90% of the time it seemed there was no chance of them losing a targeted player near there turns to pick like we know happens many times at a competitive draft. I will do whatever is asked but i rather run it over than allow the absent owner to have a chance at making over his entire roster. I
that another thing guys...were talking about an absent owners here not a NEW owner. That's why i am against letting him have free reign over the FA list and do what he please with it. No one ever said the missing owner wasn't keeping his team so why should he get that benefit after not showing up?
Im sorry if I was misunderstood guys Im not trying to get any advantage or be a jerk in any way here. I think and hope Frank knows this he was right next to me and very nice to me at the draft. He a good guy as was Mike to my right.

DT, do you go into a mock draft hoping you're drafting against a bunch of robots who draft Ben Tate? You're sounding like a big d-bag here trying to get really technical over the terminology. This isn't a court case.
I had a local work league draft last week and we had a novice owner and every time he drafted a Ben Tate type guy I said "Wait guys, let's invoke the Rae Carruth rule here- Wade, that guy is hurt, pick someone else." And everyone was cool with it and the draft went on.
Your posts disgust me. I'm sorry. Just one person's opinion.

lets not get nasty here. lets just make this work the best we can without the name calling.
i did stop the draft and complain when ir guys got put on his rooster. todd just did not want to slow down and hear it out. if he says different then we will have to meet in person. so lets not come up with a different story here. he also said he talked to tom and greg and that there was no way to get a replacement. any change in that story will really get me going nuts. again , how can you not have a number for a call in guy.
