Boston Classic League Draft Spots

Post by BLACKHAND » Sun Sep 05, 2010 6:04 am

hey , lets slow down here DT. i was telling you during the draft the going by ADP was ok but at least take off the guys on the IR and give him a full lineup. but todd said if we went by ADP then guys on IR count. as for me..i did not like that. i have a big problem if a guy wins the league by one game because he played erics team at the first few games and this includes myself.

I wasn't there. I apologize to anyone who did their best to prevent it, like I already said to Blackhand.

I don't understand the flack being thrown at the owners in the Boston league. As I said, it is a huge advantage for those owners but let's not get carried away and blame them. It is Fanball's fault. First, foremost and last. It is clear from the post that the owners in that league did everything they could to make a bad situation right.

Now that the league has been drafted their is not a lot that can be done. That doesn't change that the way it went down should never have been permitted. I guess I could blame the gentlemen running the draft, but it is Fanball's responsibility to have people that are competent.

Again, I don't think it helps to sling mud at the league participants. They made their objections and were overrode by Fanball.

I drafted in Minneapolis for the first time ever. I was very impressed with the guys running that draft. Very professional and courteous. We had 6 people on the phone with us and 5 drafting in Dallas. They took every effort to make sure that people were able to draft when it was their turn. My compliments to them. If I can't draft in Vegas then I would prefer to draft in Minneapolis. I enjoy the experience and that is after having drafted in Vegas the last couple of years.

I guess I'm just saying what the ideal was, not bash anyone in particular. If I was in the draft maybe I would have dropped the ball too. But it should have been "All due respect Seth and John, but I demand to speak to the contest coordinator before that pick is counted. If not, you're really going to regret it when everyone hears about this."

It does sound like Blackhand made those same objections and was told that the facilitators had already talked to Tom and Greg and approved the decision. I am not sure after hearing that what a person could do. When you believe that the men running the show have approved what is happening it makes it hard to keep yelling. At some point you have to worry about the draft and your own team.

John FACT. and it cant be said much better than this..thanks RC.

Although i am kinda new to the NFFC(played a few small Sats last year) Im active in other league Sats and MBs. I use the team name Azzurri and my name is Don T so i know whats going on guys and I am new to this contest and really wasn't in a spot to take the lead and step and and try to change anything that was happening. I was just drafting my team for my buddy-partner who actually paid the entire fee. I honestly was a bit confused about what was happening for the first half of the draft really. I did say call Greg and i did agree with Frank, who was trying to make things right as best he could, who seemed to be quite upset at what was going down.

I did say why isn't Greg on the phone a few times and nothing was done. IN fact now thinking back more I did say many times that i just cant get over that this is being done like this and how didn't they have this set up to go off correctly with names and numbers ready. It really was a distraction for myself and i would think a bunch of the drafters also? So at that point i just tried to draft the best team I could for my buddy and myself.

Can NFFC add a rule so this doesn't happen again? Draft highest ADP (minus) anyone out for the year.

As mistakes happen and things go wrong... you learn from them.. put rules in place and move on.
