Colts Are First NBC Flex Scheduling Casualty

Post by Tom Kessenich » Tue Nov 08, 2011 5:10 am

The NFL announced today that the Week 13 Sunday night matchup between the Patriots and Colts has been dropped. The game will be played at 1 pm ET.

I'm stunned NBC doesn't believe the nation is longing for more Curtis Painter.

No replacement game has been announced yet. The Packers-Giants are locked into Fox's national game that day so that won't be touched. My pick is for the Saints-Lions. Fox won't care they're losing that game since they have the Packers-Giants that day and the matchup should feature two exciting offenses with playoff aspirations. Bengals-Steelers could be another option but I'm guessing CBS won't want to part with that game.

week 13- eagles at seahawks
week 14- browns at pitt
week 15- jags at atlanta
week 16- texans at indy

they got to do better than that.

they got to do better than that. Funny thing is Frank, I can remember FAR more crappy Thursday night games over the years than good ones.

I think they figure it is SOMETHING to watch, so people will watch anything.

My pick is for the Saints-Lions. This is the game NBC has picked to move to Sunday night. Easy call there. Stafford vs. Brees. Two playoff contenders with exciting offenses. Slam-dunk call by NBC.

I'm barely willing to allow Rams-Seahawks since it would be a rematch of last season's Week 17 game which decided the NFC West. So I'm sort of OK with that game being scheduled.

But Chargers-Jags? Sure, the Chargers were expected to be a real good team but why would anyone honestly think the same about Jacksonville? How can a game like that be scheduled? That's pretty awful.
