NINTH ROUND

Post by Diesel » Sun Sep 02, 2007 7:29 am

I seemed to make a stir this year by backing Bulger up with P.Rivers in the 9th round. I'd like to know who YOU took in the ninth round in your league...I can't honestly compare my picks to the others because Rivers will be on my bench for most of the year, with exception to BYE week and if an injury occurs, but I'd still like to see who people took in their ninth rounds...

Thanks,

Marc

marc: i think the point is your team would have been better by bypassing bulger in the 4th and selecting your top RB.
Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?

Diesel,

Rivers might be good enough where you can play matchups with those two good QB's. It is easy in hindsight to look how things could have been different. You likely were sitting there with about a minute to go before your 9th pick and saw NO ONE y ou really liked at WR or RB or even TE and saw Rivers and all his potential sitting there... and grabbed him. That made for one less good upside QB available to others in your league and gave you nice depth and stability at QB. Keep in mind Bulger has not been the most durable guy of all time.

Did I hear that Billy also got Gore at 1.8 too? Son of a... Big Ben went right ahead of me at 7.11 but I wanted Young anyway and took him at 7.12

In my 9th round I had to take the best RB available and that was Droughns. He was my third RB taken so my needs were clear as I took two more in 10 and 11.

DIESEL , no need to make a case out of your pick. if bulger goes down it was a great move. if he plays during bad weather or a bye then rivers plays. every draft plays out different so no need to compare #9 picks. when the season plays out you might kick yourself for taking bulger instead of a rb. that is the question here , not taking a backup qb with quality.
