lou, that's where you are wrong IMO. once the flex position is locked, it's locked. i know it doesn't say that verbatim in the rules, but that's the assumption i make. in any event, that's the way the system has been for ALL of last year and ALL of this year.
you will have to duke it out with greg. marion won't likely do anything today anyways.

I agree. I am going to duke it out bigtime.
It is nonsense that you would lock a position, that is NOT a position.

3 INT boy,
EVERY league I have ever played in has had this rule EXACTLY like it is in the NFFC. Granted, it is only 2 different leagues, but if a guy is locked at WR (for example) on Thursday or Friday, why wouldn't he be locked at the flex?
You argue it isn't a position, well then what is it? You still have to fill a player in that spot, and you chose to fill in Chambers.
Unfortunately, this is just one of those "live and learn" type deals.

Help! Right now w/ Lineup submission!!
By definition the Flex player can be set from any of the three positions listed and this league uniquely gives the owners the ability to make lineup changes up until game time for even the Monday night games. I find it strange that the "flex" position can be "locked" before the last game has started. This makes no sense and would seem to limit an owners ability to field his "best" team and sort of mocks the rule to allow these "late" changes.
The "Flex" position should offer complete flexibility in fielding your best team.

The "Flex" position should offer complete flexibility in fielding your best team. It is flexable ... if you use it correctly.
If he had put Chambers in as a WR ... he would still have the Flex position available. You need to use the WR or RB spots in the early games ... and put someone in the flex who play's the late games (if possible) so you can make a switch if needed.
It's a learning curve. But used correctly ... it is flexable (if we were taking a vote ... I would vote for the ability to move Chambers to WR after the fact ... because I don't want to beat someone because they don't know how to use the flex spot correctly). But it doesn't change the fact that the spot was used poorly ... the system works fine ... it just takes more thought process to put in the lineup under the current method.

The "Flex" position should offer complete flexibility in fielding your best team. Agreed 100%. This is a quirk in the system that should've been corrected the minute it was noticed, as I'm sure this wasn't the first time. The software should NEVER interfere with the ability to properly set the lineup. An owner who is new to this system can not be expected to "figure this out" as he goes and this should NOT be a "live and learn" deal as was suggested by someone. There is absolutely no mention of this potential problem anywhere in the rules or these boards and it should've been.

Help! Right now w/ Lineup submission!!
Hey guys, the FLEX is a position in this fantasy football league. If you have a player in the FLEX position and he plays his game, he is locked into that position. Yes, the FLEX is a position in this contest. Chambers already played his game, you cannot change him to another position.
What is being said is that Chambers played his game already and is in the FLEX position. Now he wants to manage his roster and wants to move a player that has already played. There is no system that has ever allowed this. Even in WCOFF, once a player is locked, he is locked at that position.
Sorry, there is no problem here, you just dropped the ball on this one.

But I am obviously wrong ... you just might not learn from this mistake afterall. So ... you might not be any smarter ... that's your problem and it will cost you again down the line somewhere (Is that what you wanted to hear?).
UYT The man asked for help at the begginning of the thread and then had some difficulties accepting some of the facts. Is that a green light for you to tell him to be "smater next time" or "I thought you might learn"? I must missed where 3intboy insulted or attacked you for you to come out and basically call him "dumb"? Very gekkolike and totally uncalled for. [/QUOTE]Nag ... You should follow the topic better before you throw insults yourself.
I believe I basically implied he was ignorant (not dumb) ... big difference (look it up).
Three people explained how the system worked and how 3INTBOY used the position wrong (I even said ... I had made that same mistake in years past in a Yahoo league and learned from it). He came back and said he was right and had nothing to learn. I am just stating the obvious at this point. He thinks he will get Greg to change his score. He is wrong and will remain ignorant until he accepts this fact and learns from it (regardless of if the current system is a good one or not).
It is too bad that the cold hard facts regarding this somehow offend you (Nag). I guess you think I should have said something politically correct here.
I agree that this could and probably should be changed to help the less informed manager ... but this is something to discuss for next year. Like other changes ... you can't change the league mid season.
PS. This was noticed by most of us last year ... why has it taken you so long to notice this Nag?
Also ... 3INTBOY ... if I came off "Nag like" towards you ... it was obviously a reaction to your harsh words towards Greg and Tom ... I did not mean to do that. I was just stating facts. When you rejected them ... I was just stating the consequences of rejecting them. Nothing personal ... really ... I know you are just frustrated ... and as I have already stated ... I feal you pain ... I truely do.
Nag ... Nothing else to say to you.

Really? Who's the ignorant one? Still think 3intboy is? I figured as much.

It would've also made a much better point to make in your response to 3intboy instead of being yourself and throwing out insults.

I do have harsh words:
But thanks for the apology. NP-Heated day and I want to win and score as many points as possible.
I would say UYT.
If this has happened to you, why would you NOT be my backup on this?
This should never have happened. It is a computer "glitch"
If it happened last year and even 1 person complained it SHOULD have been:
1- In the rules.
2- Displayed, discussed, explained SOMEWHERE on these boards.
There is no "fact" here. Flex spot, means flexible. It is NOT a locked position.
TE,WR,RB is a locked position that fills the Flex spot once lineups are fully locked.
I deserve the points Marion Barber scored. Until someone shows me where I am locked into starting a FLEX as a FLEX. I'll post the lineup rules again if I need to. But as a reminder it only says what spots need to be filled.
