The POINT is ... the WR in the early game should NEVER go in the Flex spot or it is no longer flexable. The early game WR should always go in a WR spot ... there is absolutly no reason to do otherwise. I agree that the software could eliminate the need to do this in the future ... but for now ... this is a no brainer for some ... and a learning curve for others.
If you didn't like it last year ... you should have tried to change it before the year started ... or at least had Greg clerify it in the rules. Where were you on this?
UYT
You CAN NOT allow the software to EVER let someone move a player that has already played.
That is game operator suicide. The claims owners would make WOULD NEVER END.
Anyone wanting to change the flex position after it is locked is not giving one thought to the game operators side. Never can a locked player be changed.

Before the Sunday night game, the owner wants to make a switch in his starting lineup and remove one of the wrs and replace him with a TE, making the starting lineup 2 rbs, 3 wrs, 2 tes, a lineup which is PERFECTLY legal according to the NFFC rules YET the current software will not allow this move!! How is this owner suppose to realize that the software will not allow him to change from one VALID lineup to another one?
I believe the point that 3intboy is trying to prove is that the Flex is a "floating" position. It can be a 3rd running back, a 4th wideout or a 2nd tight end. As long as the starting lineup is VALID, we should be able to have flexibility to change it any which way we want as long as it remains a VALID starting line up. I wholeheartedly disagree with Nag's point. If it were merely a matter of submitting whatever lineup that you wish, there would be no WR/RB/TE position. You would simply submit a "valid" lineup with a 3rd RB or a 4th WR or a 2nd TE and the system would recognize it as such....BUT, the system is not set up this way.
When you are setting starters, each of the above listed position players has a drop down box with 2 choices: THEIR POSITION & the WR/RB/TE position. Logic dictates that there would be no distinction in the drop down box if the "FLEX" could just be any of the above without making an explicit indication.
Each and every one of us on a weekly basis has to designate one of our position players as a WR/RB/TE. Clearly, that is a specific position in our lineup AND the rules state that a player's position is locked once his game has started. Therefore, Chambers is locked at WR/RB/TE since his game has been played and in the future, one should leave a relevant late game starter in that position to ensure roster flexibility.
That is all I have to say. Enjoy my opinion as it is correct and superior.
Bump.....Too many posts followed mine and I feared that the risk existed that my eloquence would be overlooked. btw stands for "by the way".

Help! Right now w/ Lineup submission!!
3intboy,
My reason for the move was I had Randy Moss hurt and I needed to make sure the I had the option on Sunday to put in a RB or WR if Moss diidn't play. It was always my opinion that the flex spot would lock if I had someone in that spot. I also made another owner aware to make sure to move Moss out the WR spot just in case. I also told him Moss would play, but I didn't play him.

It is NOT in the rules and there is NO warning of a potential LOCKED player scenario anywhere on the site or these boards. I don't think you agree that it should be a "learn as you play" deal, do you?

Where were you on this? What is the difference to you where I was on this last year? Are you trying to make a point? If you are, please do so, otherwise stick to the topic. I'm on it today, thats what matters.

I canot and will not answer specifics. Because I am not looking for an argument. Like I said before.
How would I know the software doesn't allow it?
How?
I would know IF IT WERE IN THE RULES!
BUT IT IS NOT, CASE CLOSED.
THE SYSTEM IS WRONG, because ONLY someone who has played here or done it would know this.
THE SOFTWARE LIMITS MY TEAM!?
you accept this?
It's happened before and I know this how?
WTH are you all talking about!
I can start:
2RBs 4WRs 1TE
or
3RBs 3WRs 1TE
0r
2RBs 3WRs 2TEs
Simple. one of those players fills my lineup requirement. But they are a FLEXIBLE player.
Not locked. I can change everything except a player who has played. Simple. Like I said before. I am not looking to change a rule. I am looking to meet my lineup requirement. And have the players to meet the above lineups.
BUT I'M LOCKED BECAUSE OF THE COMPUTER?
You buy that?
You have got to be kidding me......

I cannot believe I don't have the world behind me.
It's wrong.
Change it.
It states nowhere that I lock a guy as a FLex.
Some people know this and others don't. Sounds alot like the FFM's last year....
Change it. Now.
Good for everyone. Not just me.
