Randy Moss retired today. A cynic would say he actually stopped playing last season.

Ahmad Bradshaw has re-signed with the Giants. The Giants had to get this done and so did Bradshaw. His options had pretty much dwindled and no one else left in free agency has his talent or upside.

So where does Ronnie Brown end up Tom?

And Braylon?

And Braylon? Sounds like the Rams are hot for Brown. If they go with Snelling instead, maybe Brown heads back to the Dolphins. But I don't think that makes any sense for Miami. They already have one veteran RB with durability issues. They don't need another.

Recent reports indicate the Cardinals are pursuing Edwards. They need another starting WR and he's the best one left.

Favre and Moss could go into the Hall of Fame at the same time, but of course Brett will find a way to unretire this year, or next year or in 2014 to prevent that from happening. :D And who knows if Moss actually stays retired. What a sudden end to his career.

Ryan Mathews is missing camp time with a toe injury. I love his talent but this has become a bona-fide red flag and I'm downgrading him. He has little margin for error given how impressive Tolbert was last season to begin with. The last thing he can afford is to miss camp time and fail to make the starting job his own. If Mathews can get healthy and stay healthy throughout the preseason I'll feel better about him and again view him as a fine RB2. But for now, I'm backing off.

Ronnie Brown signs with the Eagles. I don't think this hurts McCoy a great deal but Brown is a very good receiver out of the backfield so he could steal some of McCoy's third-down snaps.

It probably doesn't hurt mccoy too much, but I'm not happy to see it either. Seeing as I already have Mccoy in a league.

I'm picking 7th in my top league and McCoy is the guy I figured I'd be getting there. This development hasn't led me to back off McCoy. Brown can do well in the passing game but McCoy is exceptional there. So I don't see McCoy's workload being impacted greatly. He'll lose some touches, but I think Brown is primarily there to keep McCoy fresh. That ultimately should prove to be a positive for McCoy and his owners.

It would probably be more comforting for McCoy owners if a lesser known RB was his backup. But I don't think Ronnie Brown at age 30 coming off a season where he was in decline is in a position to steal a lot of McCoy's thunder. I'd still view him as the No. 6 RB on the board this season.

Zach Miller will sign with the Seahawks. I no longer consider him a TE1. Like Sidney Rice, I don't see Miller having much value given how awful Seattle's QB situation is. Still a lot of talent and depth at the TE position but this does hurt the position overall.
