Quitting

Greg/Tom,
I am in New York League 7 and have come across an issue that has certainly taken place in the past. An owner in my league has quit setting his line-up and basically given the first place team a victory. When I faced him a few weeks ago, he set a full line-up. Now, this week he has started Joey Galloway on a bye, and Shaun Alexander who is not playing tonight. WHile my chances of winning the W-L record is probably out, it affects 6 others in the league. There must be some sort of post-kickoff rule that has to be put in effect. Please respond with your opinion

an age old question. nothing you can really do, except try to contact the person to get him to change his lineup.

Jeff - unfortunatley it's part of the H2H format package that is so much "fun" for so many owners. H2H - gotta love it!

It sucks jeff - I wish there was an answer for you.
Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?

One answer is having a program which automatically replaces bye week players with active ones each Tuesday. This will not solve the issue of injured players in the starting lineup or if there is no bye week replacement on the roster but it will be a drastic improvement over the current hands-off approach. I currently play in a league which is implementing this and it has already been quite helpful.

Just curious

Just curious I don't know how the choices are made exactly but the important thing is it places active players into the starting lineup and removes those on bye weeks. Better than nothing, I think. Those looking for a perfection need to play rotisserie.

We can all let are opinion's be heard on the boards. And pray Greg will consider it. H2H sucks!!!!! Why can't we give H2H 3rd place cash. Give them $1,000 and give 1st and 2nd place in total points the rest of the cash???? And have a 3 week playoff between 1st and 2nd in points??

I had a guy in my league Play Tarvaris Jackson over Drew Brees and gave the leader of H2H another Gift. He also had cash and didn't pick up a defense.

Some other guy in my league didn't have enough cash to pick up a kicker and Gave the same guy another easy win. Lost by like 2 points.

H2H ruins this game. I hate my fate being on someone else and not me.... :(

Team A needs team C to beat team B in order make the LCG via best record.

Exciting situations that are 95% or more involving correct and complete lineups. The less than 5% you hear about.

Team A lobbies to change the rules for next season.

Under the "possible new rules" and being in the exact scenario with the "new rules"...Team A fails to make playoffs anyway due to not having enough points.

I like the balance of points and wins via H2H having value.

Removing the element of having one opponent each week and removing the value of a WIN removes one hell of a lot IMO.

[/QUOTE]KJ,

I did check out your thread. Not really into it. My issue is the Money the H2H winner gets and "league championship rights". And who should be playing for them.

I think Greg made a good change with the 3 week playoff if you are not first in total points and have the best record come the end of week 13. But Fantasy football should not be like playing a slot machine. Shouldn't be about luck or being lucky. Just my opinion.

If you want the truth, Check out the Break Down page in your league. Where it shows you Everybody against everybody week in and week out. It would be cool if you could just take the top 6 best break downs and have a 3 week playoff out of those teams. Thats the best skill way.Top 2 scoring teams for the three weeks finish first and second. Thats my dream league....lol

And Keep a H2H prize at $1,000 for the guys who like to buy lottery tickets and be Lucky.
