I LOVE the idea of having STATS automatically switch out Bye week guys for the top average on your bench on Tuesday. What if the top average guy is L.Jordan over a Fargas or a Grant?
[/QUOTE]My guess is that no one will every modify an nffc team's lineup other than the owner. You're opening up a huge can of worms otherwise.

Is it just bye week players or injured players too ? If jut bye then the best average or highest points on bench ? I can envision a scenario where a S.Smith type sits against 1 team but plays next week against another. Is that fair ?

After the bye week is over what then ? Does the guy automatically go back in ? What if he is out with an injury ? So some kind of program puts an injured player back in for a healthy player. Is that fair ?

Ok, so a program won't have enough savy or sense involving lineups. So a live body makes the changes ? To be fair there will have to be a multitude of if/thens so the decision making is out of an individual's hands. Who has the time for this ? Greg, Tom ? doubtful.

An owner leaves for Hawaii for 2 weeks. He forgets to swap out his bye week kr. In comes the nffc making the switch. Guy comes back on the following tuesday and wonders why 15 pt Folk is on the bench and 1 point Nugent is in his lineup when he never made the change. WTF ??

Sorry for the long winded post but I can't see it ever happening.

JohnZ,

Now we are talking! Ideas, ideas.. lets have discussion. I would say Jordan at least has the CHANCE to score something and is better than the owner starting an automatic zero... We may not be able to make it perfect or ever completely eliminate the problem, but we can make it better and soften the blow.

What happens next week when Jordan is still in lineup and BYE boy Maroney is still on bench. You can't program that.

JohnZ,

This is the kind of exchange I want. I never said I had the answer. I do, however, know for a fact that quitting owners in high stakes leagues are impacting more than just themselves and their own big investment. There are a lot of very smart fantasy minds here and I don't see why we can't just discuss this issue in an effort to come up with ways to address what can be a very ugly situation that can ruin a fantasy league.

I think this issue is important enough that we at least have a TOPIC where it can be discussed among serious fantasy owners...

In another thread Billy Waz brought up the concept of a "committee" to monitor drops. Yesterday I typed the same "throw something out there for discussion" type of proposal in our own league message board in the NY auction 1 for quitting teams. We have a team who has bailed out on the league and several owners are VERY upset. I also was told by a friend in the NFFC main league that another owner OFFERED MONEY BACK to my friend if his team went on to win the league on the strength of the quitting team giving up against him, but trying against by buddies team (total class act move to offer this by the way).

This is clearly an issue that we should at least be discussing and I hope this thread can finally be a setting for it.

I too like the idea of some kind of committee being used. We could have the current system in place where Greg/tom review the drops each week as a filter to make sure nothing crazy happens. But I was wondering if we could use some kind of "committee" for rulings when another owner or group of owners from a league spots a quitter and "reports" or highlights the lineup in question and the committee could choose which active player from their bench that is a viable start over the player who is OUT or on bye.

I think this is at least reasonable to discuss.
